For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life......Why is it so popular and known by every christian,even the children...I can remember it was the first bible scripture i memorized... Why? |

souljay007:This is the summary of the purpose of Christ on earth John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Jesus explained HOW to be Born Again in this Chapter. It starts from verse 1 of chapter 3 1. Condition for Salvation: [3] Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 2. The Meaning of Being Born Again [6] That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 3. Explanation of How to Be Born Again [14] And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: [15] That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. Numbers 21:4-8 4 They traveled from Mount Hor along the route to the Red Sea, to go around Edom. But the people grew impatient on the way; 5 they spoke against God and against Moses, and said, “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no bread! There is no water! And we detest this miserable food!” 6 Then the Lord sent venomous snakes among them; they bit the people and many Israelites died. 7 The people came to Moses and said, “We sinned when we spoke against the Lord and against you. Pray that the Lord will take the snakes away from us.” So Moses prayed for the people. 8 The Lord said to Moses, “Make a snake and put it up on a pole; anyone who is bitten can look at it and live.” 9 So Moses made a bronze snake and put it up on a pole. Then when anyone was bitten by a snake and looked at the bronze snake, they lived. Explanation: Nicodemus needed no breakdown of this a a scholar of the Torah 1. Children of Israel fell into sin against God 2. God allowed the Judgement of Poisonous snakes against them 3. Every known medical solution and intervention failed to help the children of Israel 4. After several thousands of the children of Israel had died, the leaders of the children went to ask Moses to intercede for them 5. Moses went to intercede with God for the children of Israel 6. Instead of God removing the snakes, God instead provided HIS OWN SOLUTION 7. Gods solution was that Moses should hang a bronze snake in the middle of the camp of Israel: The one who is bitten by the snake should go up and LOOK at the image of the snake on the pole: ANYONE who Believes in Gods Solution will NOT Die but Live. Jesus said: Just as the Bronze Serpent was hung up on a pole, so that whoever Believes in God's SOLUTION will not die but live So, Also Jesus will be hung up on the cross so that whoever Believes in God's SOLUTION will not perish but have eternal life with God in Paradise. This is probably one of the most powerful verse in the whole Bible: it is the summary of the whole of the Christian faith! |

Expanse2020:Stop yammering abeg! The statement was recorded as the words of Jesus Christ there in the book of John. So how could Jesus Christ have denied it? And what voice? I still believe you have never in fact read any portion of that book for yourself. How come? I don't know. |
