Before I know the right response for you:

1. Are you trying to defend Saraki?

2. Or trying to adopt Tu Quoque (a fallacy in arguments) to attack Buhari?

3. Or both?

Speak!

The way Nigerian politicians play their politics is disgraceful. You cannot be big than your party, the medium in which you contested.
In 2011 the APC people were cheerleaders for Tambuwal's emergence as Speaker against PDP's choice of Hon. Mulikat Akande. Gbajabiamila and Tinubu made that happen, not so huh
Karma is still alive and kicking, surely.

Re: Timi Frank Blasts Oyegun Over Saraki's Fate by freeze001(f): 8:13pm On Apr 17, 2016
Methinks Timi was berating Oyegun for doing what Saraki is being attacked for today. Whether or not Saraki is guilty is left for the court to decide and I won't speculate on that point. However, it is evident that this trial came up because he went against party plans n choice of Senate Presidency. It is certainly not because APC is being impartial in the so called corruption fight.

It is therefore not in the best of interests for Oyegun to make such a statement that is not the joint position of the party. His position is such that even a personal opinion can be interpreted as the secret position of the party hence the allusion to an already written script.

Timi is not out of place for expecting a common party stance which should be communicated through proper channels. Such a statement is capable of being interpreted as influential on the court's judgment esp if not in favour of Saraki because it is a matter that is sub judice.

I am asking that the ultimate leader be clean in order to have the MORAL justification to chase anyone otherwise his fight against corruption when he is actually very CORRUPT himself makes a mockery of our intelligence.
Ebola Owu did that for eight years and left us worse off.

Bringing this up portrays you, rightly or wrongly, as someone that's in support of Saraki's activities that led to his prosecution.

Create a different thread to air your views on that. Else it appears you're providing a distraction for Saraki, which casts you as a corruption-friendly person.

When you think all is settled in the midst of right thinking Homo sapien sapiens all of a sudden a monkey in a tuxedo emerged from no where thinking he is a specie of human just to spew empty rants in order to be relevant. Even Saraki knew he had abandoned his Party (APC) the day he illegally snatched the "now poisoned chalice" (Senate seat) he earlier thought was sweet. So the issue of the Party Chieftains leaving Saraki to his fate does not even arise when indeed it was Saraki because of his unchecked rapacity for power went against his party laid down rules for selection of officers and even spite them in his selections of offices at the Senate. So, what is this "monkey in tuxedo" yapping about.

Saraki is gone yesterday. He sacrificed himself the moment he stood for that useless Senate President position.Saraki,in retrospect, should have shown himself a loyal politician after his recent disloyalty to PDP. This game is not for babies. The people finishing Saraki are just putting the chess pieces in position until June. He's a goner. Tambuwal was never accused of corruption. Therein lies the difference.

Any PDP senator who will dare to even aspire to that useless (so far since 1999) Senate Presidency must make sure he has no skeletons in his cupboard. Or I'm sorry you will suffer Saraki's fate. As Chairman Oyegun said this is the price for change.

To get perspective, there's always a long walk to change or freedom. Final victory comes with its little defeats. The Chinese communist party had to fight a running battle with the Chinese nationalists. The communists lost many battles but eventually achieved victory.

Political killings in the present dispensation

By

Ahmed I. Shekarau

The brutal murder in the early hours of Wednesday in Abuja, of Dr. Marshall Harry is the latest in the spate of political killings in the country since May 1999 when the present civilian dispensation was ushered in. This latest gruesome murder of the opposition All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) Chieftain brings to the fore the major threat to the successful conduct of a free and fair elections in the country.

Although several other Nigerians have been murdered in such gruesome manner as Chief Harry’s, his own, happening at the run off to the general elections in the country and in succession to two other political killings in the last few weeks in Imo State, in the South East of the country, will no doubt give cause for concern as to the possibility of holding a hitch-free polls in Nigeria.

This is particularly so because Dr. Marshall Harry who is the National Vice Chairman of the ANPP, is the anchorman and one of the chief strategists of the opposition party in the entire south of Nigeria.

Renowned as a grassroots mobiliser, Dr. Harry is also a very close friend and associate of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) main challenger, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.), who is the presidential candidate of the ANPP.

This makes it the more curious that Marshal Harry was murdered barely 24 hours after the ANPP inaugurated its presidential campaign committee with the assassinated Chief as its Coordinator in the South South and about three days away from its presidential campaign launch in Port Harcourt, the late Chief’s home base.

All the more worrisome is the seeming helplessness of the Nigeria police force, which is still yet to unravel the killers of many prominent Nigerians, including the country’s chief law officer, Chief Bola Ige, Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, about 15 months after he was also murdered in his residence.

It is against this backdrop that many have posited that these spate of killings in the face of a seemingly helpless police, are posers to what the April polls could deliver.

A rundown of some of the notable personalities killed since 1999 is as follows:-

- Sunday Ugwu, elder brother of Nwabueze Ugwu, a legislator representing Nkanu East LGA in Enugu killed in a case of mistaken identity on September 9, 1999.

- Chukwudozie Nwachukwu and Okechukwu in Abia State.

- Governor James Ibori escaped death in an exchange of gun fire between two factions of the PDP on February 4, 2001.

- Four killed in Abakaliki when Chief Anyim Pius Anyim’s supporters clashed with Governor Sam Egwu’s supporters on August 24, 2001.

- Odunayo Olagbaju, member, Osun State House of Assembly, killed in Ile-Ife on December 21, 2001.

- Chief Bola Ige, Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, gruesomely murdered on December 23, 2001.

- Three students reportedly killed at Effurun, Delta State, after a PDP rally turned violent on March 7, 2002.

- Alhaji Ahmed Pategi, Kwara State Chairman, PDP, murdered at Aiyetoro, in Kogi State, on the 15th of August, 2002.

- Victor Nwankwo, younger brother of Arthur Nwankwo, founder, Eastern Mandate Union (EMU) assassinated on August 29, 2001.

- Barnabas Igwe, Chairman, Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) and his wife, Abigail Igwe, murdered on the 1st of September, 2002.

- Chimere Ikoku, former Vice Chancellor, UNN, killed in his residence in Enugu on the 20th of October last year.

- Dele Arojo, PDP guber aspirant, killed by unknown assailants in Lagos on November 25, 2002.

- Around December last year, Alhaji Isyaku Muhammad, United Nigeria Peoples Party (UNPP), National Vice Chairman, North West was assassinated.

- One ANPP Chief killed in Ibadan, Oyo State capital in an intra-party clash, January 13, 2003.

- Three killed in an ANPP, PDP clash around Buhari – Bularafa – Dokini area in Yobe State, January 18, 2003.

- Second week of February, Chief Ogbonnaya Uche, ANPP senatorial candidate in Imo State, assassinated.

- Mr. Theodore A. Agwatu, Principal Secretary to the Governor of Imo State, killed in February 2003.

- February 18, 2003, a security man in the residence of Paul Unongo, ANPP governorship candidate in Benue State was murdered by unknown gunmen.

- February 23, 2003, Speaker, Borno State House of Assembly, Hon. Inuwa Kubo escaped assassination attempt.
