How few herdsmen conquer an entire community when there are youths there still baffles me?

Sneak in at night to kill people, I can understand, but displacing and taking over a community comprised of able young men is unthinkable.

Nigerian youth really need redefinition.angry

OBJ couldn't stop the fulani marauders, Yaradua and GEJ also couldn't stop them. If Buhari can't stop them, then one Nigeria is as good as finished.

I remember a Tiv friend of mine lamenting as far back as 2008 about how these devils kept attacking her village leaving death and destruction in their wake, but the saddest thing is, it was never reported in the news. It's a good thing that the atrocities of these morons is being properly publicised now; this is the beginning of their end.
I think Buhari being a Fulani himself has the greatest of all chances to solve it. Let us support in every way we can to achieve peaceful solution because it will be a very difficult crisis if war ecalates between herdsmen and farmers across Nigeria.

The problem precedes GEJ; OBJ couldn't deal with it, Yaradua couldn't and GEJ couldn't. Unfortunately it was never really reported all these years, the people of the middle-belt were left to suffer alone. The only reason this age long menace is getting media attention now is because of politics, it is a suitable political tool to fight Buhari since he's a Fulani man himself. It is a good thing though because with the attention their atrocities are getting now, it may not be long before something is done about them for good.
abagworo is actually sick upstairs, his blind hatred for GEJ will be his undoing.

Just imagine him trying to soley blame Jonathan for fulani herdsmen when we all know these guys were operating in the days of Obasanjo and Yar Adua but as usual, Jonathan must be blamed for everything.

Nobody is blaming GEJ, but the only reason those comments are made is because a lot of idiotts have been blaming Buhari for this. Hopefully you aren't one of those that also blame Buhari for the atrocities of the herdsmen.
what nonsense?

This administration has blamed GEJ for every wrong turn it met, now this crisis of herdsmen has erupted under the buhari administration, you still deem it fit not to blame him for it. The same man who hasn't come out to re-assure nigerians of the faith they put in him.
Bros this is hypocrisy!

As they kill, rape and destroy properties, we should wait for peaceful resolution. Ok!
For the fact that their actions have not been given immediate retaliatory response, i think that's peaceful enough!

How come buhari is yet to issue stern threats to the demonic fulani herdsmen like he has done to pipeline vandals?

Where are the soldiers that shot and killed unarmed IPOB protesters but never there to kill off the fulani herdsmen when they invade with AK47s to ra.pe, kill and destroyhuh

Igbos are fund of posting Fulani this, Fulani that. What of atrocities committed by IPoB. Everywhere.

Fulanis don't look for trouble unless you look for their trouble. If you check very well, you may find out that Fulani herdsmen did not start the problem first in Benue state.

The simple logic is suicidal warfare where few sacrifice with their lives which other Nigerians find very difficult to do. For my family I can but for my community it will be difficult.

GEJ deserves the blame just like he deserves that of militancy and Boko Haram. No country thrives by playing ostrich to the life of it's citizens and allowing controllable issues spiral out of control. Buhari will improve the herdsmen issue by either peace or by war. He will equally do same with militancy, pipeline vandals and IPOB. Total military might should be employed where necessary.
He will, he will, he will.....one year has crept past like a thief in the night.....he will, he will.

won't you blame him if it was him that kept silent over this issue for a long time.
mr man who's CinC and who swore to protect the lives and properties of his people?
so tell me why won't i blame him
fulani herdsmen are on rampage killing and sacking communities with live ammunitions and the president is doing nothing about it and you said we shouldn't blame him
please you guys should try and be objective even for once.
Just Sharap and get out
I didn't say he shouldn't be blamed for his criminal silence, it is his duty to speak up and condemn this. I didn't also say it wasn't his duty to provide security.

I only said it was idiotic for anyone to say the Fulani rampage is 'because Buhari is now the president.' Many morons have since turned this crisis into politics by claiming the Fulani's are killing people because their son is president. On this forum, several imbeciles have even celebrated the killings in Benue and used it as a political fun tool to taunt a particular Nairalander from Benue who is a Buhari fan. Such stupidity is what I denounced. I never argued that Buhari as a president shouldn't be blamed for the poor security of lives and properties.

Is it that Benue doesn't have youths or what? It is ludicrous that they cannot defend their own homes.
Stop talking like that. Can't you see the conspiracy in it all? The youths are not allowed to bear arms and guns but the Fulani herdsmen are allowed to and supported by the police and the military. How on earth can you engage machine gun-wielding attackers with mere sticks and cutlasses? Besides, the moment you kill a Fulani, that's when the police, the military, the DSS will all rise up cry foul and lock up all the youths in prisons. You can't actually blame the youths. It's a problem everybody is facing and WE ALL MUST COLLECTIVELY RISE UP AND CONFRONT THIS COMMON ENEMY AND GRAND CONSPIRACY

Hypocrisy you say?... Just for your information, the Fulani herdmen crisis did not erupt under Buhari as you and many of your ilk have chosen to ignorantly proclaim; Buhari inherited the problem, even GEJ inherited the problem. But while GEJ failed to solve it (it was hardly even reported because the media focussed on bokoharam), it would be a real mess for this administration if Buhari doesnt especially as Buhari being a Fulani man himself is in the best position to fix this.

None of them is as strict as Buhari. OBJ is a strong man too but not a strict man hence his tolerances but Buhari I believe will not tolerate nonsense.

Yar'Adua spoilt Nigeria for Jonathan. He destroyed OBJ's harsh but solid foundations in order to gain acceptance for his flawed election. Jonathan being a civilian could not make strict decisions hence his inability to revert to most Obasanjo's foundations.

Firefire:
By Peter Duru

MAKURDI—Despite efforts by the Federal and Benue State governments to end clashes between herdsmen and farmers, indications emerged yesterday that Moor, a council ward in Kwande Local Government Area of the state had been sacked by armed herdsmen.

Vanguard learned that the crisis, which dates back to 2013, has left over 100 persons dead, scores sustaining varying degrees of injuries and close to 8,000 displaced.

A source said: “Moor in Kwande Local Government Area is now an occupied territory. Herdsmen have sacked the inhabitants from their ancestral homes and taken over the council ward.

The crisis started as far back as 2013 and has led to the death of over 100 persons and many others injured.

“All the local government clinics, including 21 primary and secondary schools in the area, have been completely destroyed. The indigenes of the community are refugees in other communities.”

Corroborating the story, the Executive Secretary of the Benue State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, Mr. Boniface Otese, said the agency had been making concerted efforts to avail the displaced persons necessary relief materials.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Moses Yamu, said police, military and other sister security agencies were working round the clock to ensure that peace and normalcy returned to every trouble spot in the state.

This is a country where Herdsmen with their cattle free style on people's farm land, kill the farmers, rape women and destroy their properties across the States, and nothing is being done to checkmate and punish
them. we have law breakers....sorry makers, Police, DSS, ARMY, NSCDC etc

No! the only reason why Buhari supporters keep returning to blame GEJ is because GEJ supporters keep making ignorant accusations against Buhari. 'Blame' is a game and if you play it, the opponent will return the favour. Across Nigeria today, a lot of ignorant folks have chosen to politicise the fulani crisis, a lot have ignorantly claimed the fulani's are killing people because Buhari is president. This is the sort of reasoning and comments that compel people to 'return fire' and blame GEJ, especially when we know the fulani marauders also operated freely during GEJ's reign without even being reported.

Many questions are begging for answers regarding this Fulani Herbs men.

Are there Nigerians? or maybe Boko Haram in disguise?

Why has the Nigeria government not make any efforts to ascertain the nationality of this lethal class of human beings, taking into account that our northern borders are porous, and especially, the homogeneous Fulani tribe in the entire North Africa?

Is the Nigeria Immigration Authority given express comma to overlook the influx of the Fulani cattlemen into our country

How do this people have access to this weapons of mass destruction?

Has the Authority ever find out?

If yes, what have they done with such findings?

If they know and can not do anything, then they cannot be entrusted with the security of lives and properties of this country.

We shall not cease to pray for our leaders and offer counsel to them to aid their governance for the peace of our country.
