Freelancer is real but you need to be highly skilled so you can distinguish yourself. For example, if you are very good in graphics, web design, app development you will make it cos not everyone has the ability and learning any of them takes serious effort.

It becomes more challenging if you go into more competitive areas like writing cos lots of people are into it and there are tons of softwares you can use to get write ups.

The best way is to learn a valuable skill and go into freelance.

All in all, freelancing is real and people are making it big time. I have made some cash ($$$$$) from it but still waiting for the big break cos am currently taking the advice I gave to you.
