Awka was,is and will still be the worst state capital in the east not abakiliki not umuahia. as an igbo boi I'm not being biased but saying the truth as it is.....

forget the propaganda being spread online that awka is now haven on earth(if I hear),the town is so damn chaotic,disorganised and dirty!

the money that was used on embarking on the useless project of constructing 3flyover on the enugu-onitsha expressway should have being used to just rehabilitate the awka axis only and the rest channelled to the only dualized road in the town(ziks avenue) like widening the road and constructing a good drainage system.

awka was brandished a 'dumpsite' by mr.ifeanyi ubah sometime ago and since then it still reamins the same.

Only clowns believe that because a town was named the capital of a state, more of the state's resources should go to provide development infrastructure in the state capital than in the other towns in the state.

Clowns have that belief, and they can be found even among the top leadership of two south east states.
Anambra governors so far have been paying good development attention to all areas of Anambra state, including Onitsha, Awka and Nnewi.
Anambra people must avoid electing governors that believe that a state was created to have nearly all the development infrastructure in the state in the state capital.

Awka must be given its own share of development, but not at the negligence of other areas of Anambra state.

..... and three major cities that are fast developing.

While in one state in the south east, the governor has reduced the once two to three growing cities in the state into rubbish after attempts at dualizing two or three streets in them.

Since then, obsession with the state capital has made the governor pour every income of the state in building vain glory edifices only in the state capital.

Guy swallow your pride and accept the fact. Awka is a glorified village till thy kingdom come. Showing us teaching hospital does not change what everyone knows. We all travel around and know how things really are. Awka is by far the most backwatd Capital city in the Southeast.

Op is not far from the truth Awka still has a long way to go but it is one of the fastest developing city in Nigeria. The previous governors ignored Awka by not planning the town very well, there was and still housing boom at Awka but no proper town planning blue print if there is any now I don't know. Anybody can build anywhere which led to lack of dual roads in Awka.

I quite agree with you, as a matter of fact awka was not well planned. Its not a matter of big big houses which is well spread all over anambra but the planning of the city which in all ramifications is notin to write home about. Houses are built any anyways and anyway, the roads are so poorly spaced and many more.

Your friend and Imo governor swore that Imo state shall not develop beyond Owerri, since 2012.

Owerri is the fastest developing city in Nigeria after Abuja and Lagos. Wait for the world bank reports that will soon be published. People are definitely building houses and estates in Awka in large volume but no roads, public water supply and town planning.
