The Courts take issues of contempt whether in facia or ex-facia curie, very seriously. It is for the preservation of the sanctity of the office of the Judge and the dignity of the Court and not necessarily the person of the Judge himself. If Jega was a Magistrate and the Orubebe did all that, he would have been summarily tried and most likely convicted for contempt. In d instant case, the CCT has the full powers of a High Court and so is the office of the Chairman. Oluyede ought to know that.

What is going on in my country? It is the same unethical behaviour that Sarakis lawyers have been carrying out by shopping for fraudulent injunctions to stop his trial. It is wrong, an aberration, to ask another judge to hear your case after the supreme Court or another court has thrown it out. The same case!

The Judge is the lord of the court. No lawyer has the right to exchange words with him. To be fair to Umar, he gave a very simple explanation to why he won't consider their motion (or whatever it's called) at that time. The lawyer should have simply obeyed before complain, but he took the Orubebe route. He is lucky the judge is a young man, if say na all these old judges wey dey put face like overnight eba na prison he for dey chill now.
