he was in a rush to comment... first class no be beans for lautech.. I just graduated from urp... and since the establishment of that department .. we have only produced one first class ever... environmental faculty( archy, urp, fa) in that sch no be beans.

If for anything, federal unis produce the largest proportion of 1st class graduates after private unis, as compared with state unis. Unilag even had to produce a perfect CGPA this year 5.00 which is public knowledge. Previously, they produce very close to that as compared with 4.88 in this case. This is the record of the most recent convocations of these 3 schools, two federal and one state (LAUTECH)
Unilag... 5,472 graduates, 178 first class (3.25% first class)
U I.......... 7,786 graduates, 222 first class (2.85% first class)
LAUTECH.. 10,317 graduates(2 sessions), 105 first class (1.02% first class)

Ogun State University now (Olabisi Onabanjo University). In 2004.

I can't remember the graduating students population. OSU is a conventional University so u should expect its population to be more than that of LAUTECH. Going by students population now, I dnt think this graduating population of LAUTECH would be more than double the Graduating population of OSU in 2004.

We should probably thank the Private Universities for the bolded. Our public universities have now realized that taking pride in not "giving" out first class degrees even when a student is deserving is not good for their image. Education doesn't have to be made difficult for students just to prove some mute point.

Education is not supposed to be made a burden for students. Bagging a first class degree is quite possible if your work towards it. It's just that in this country, lecturers like to take pride in students failing their courses or scoring low grades when in reality, the university should probably query your teaching methods and capability if most of your students keep failing your course or consistently score low grades.

As with many other things in this country, we like to make life difficult for the next man just so we can have a sense of being better than him. I have a friend who graduated from a state university with a 3rd class. Then he went to the US, did a post-graduate programme and today has a PhD. Yet some dumb lecturers almost made him feel he had a dull brain.

Omoh no think am ooooo wen I see people from other schools making negative comments about lautech it amazes me cos very few of u graduates will survive the warriors we breed here you guys r just being breed to face d real world whereas we ladokites r already in d real world every lecture from PD was a hit bak to bak from 1500 to sifax shalla to mama foyoke of stadium, mama T, mama kaz, Tito gate, Lagos kitchen, plateau kitchen amazing, alata milk and honey mama no 1, poly kitchen and everyone I can't remember n d wonderful donut sellers (the donut z a secret recipe batteled wif d addiction for a while) and d zobo n kunu sellers u guys r well appreciated also to nest, de niche, harmony, fish bar, bush bar n all oda bars na una dy put water for we garri

Honestly, that's the problem! The Question of 'where will they work?' on th lips of Nigerians. Statistics have shown us that about 63% of USA graduates are self employed! We have to accept the fact that our government isn't even part of the process because they have failed in their entirety. If a country like the USA, with competent government that is able to provide Job for a good number of its graduates possess such % of self employed Graduates and other persons, then we hav to do away with this logically correct and important yet ridiculous question of where will they work. If one truly and honestly passed through higher institution with purpose and maximum focus free of malpractices, I doubt if many graduates would be unemployed! Congratulations to the fresh Graduates! Congratulation to the two distinctive graduates! God bless Nigeria my country!
