Some Nigerians are fo.ols and illeterates. Do they think the president automatically solves the problems of a country? People see their local governing politicians around but they keep quite. They would rather hail them and get peanuts than hit them where it hurts.

Every arm of the government has got job to do.

The fish rots from the head,, - That was one of the favorite quotes used against the past government which I agree with.
People can't get fuel, with a sharp overall reduction in standard of living from poor to abysmal, and you expect them to blame powerless local governments.
Don't be a zombie.

Is fuel the only problem of Nigeria? Do you think FG is the only arm of government that would do everything including that small Street that leads to your house? Quit been a zombie

How can sane people stand with a lunatic who values cattle more than human beings?

I would rather stand with Christ.

You are still being a zombie.
People are not asking for paradise. They just want their standard of living to return back to what it was last year, which was not much anyway.
You are a zombie, but not an intelligent one.

We all understand what you are trying to say. I can authoritatively tell you it makes some sense. But the sense in it is nonsense on this issue.

When people are complaining of job loses, no fuel, increase in phcn tarrif while in partial darkness, killing and massacre of civilians by security operatives and terrorist, non payment of salaries etc.
Here you are complaining about the road that leads to your house? It's so out of point.

Sigh....puts on the propaganda hat as usual

Disclaimer: This is not a defence or an attack. Just stating facts.

1.All those Nigerians complaining....what alternatives do they propose?

2.We are in this situation because since independence....our economy has been tied to the price of the resources that we sell. If the price of the resources we sell goes down, we lose revenue....and our economy goes down.

3.Right now...the price of the main resource we sell...oil is down. As a result...the high standards of living that we enjoyed (not that everyone enjoyed it)...has fallen down too.

4.Because we are so dependent on oil...we have forgotten to manufacture things. As a result....we import. When prices are high...we can import as much as we like because we have the money. When prices fall...we can no longer import....and we have to do so at higher prices.

5.Most of the critics of Buhari.....are not really attacking him. They want to sit down and continue to import things that would make them comfy. The fact that they cannot do that is what is making them angry.

6.We can get out of this mess...by spending more on power and industrial development, and less on subsidies, as well as increasing taxes...and using the money saved to develop industrial support infrastructure....which would guarantee a prosperous future. But these people do not want that solution....because it means that we would go through a period of suffering....which they really do not want.

7. Things appeared better under the last admin because we had the forex to buffer the naira, as well as the forex to import goodies. Now...we do not have that forex....and things are harder.

8. Right now....Nigerians are grumbling. But if they want the goodies to come back....that means we have to take a loan from the IMF or we deplete our savings account to keep everyone happy. At the end of the day...we would have a brief Indian summer to be followed by a 1000 year winter.

9.Nigeria's route to economic survival lies with the development of a local industrial sector dependent on raw materials from within. It does not lie in oil.....or in fooling ourselves...the way we have been for decades....with the revenues from resources. I am afraid most Buhari ciritics do not see that. They only see that there is no more free money to chop.

The era of free things is over. Time we fixed this country.

P.S- If you want free flow of fuel....you would have to deregulate. But....most anti and even pro Buhari people do not want to pay for fuel at high prices. They want cheap fuel.

Well...that is the cold reality. We do not have money. Better tighten your seatbelts. If it is any comfort...if GEJ had saved money, and told the governors to forget sharing....it would have just delayed the evil day longer.
Omo mehn, see write up for essay....

I have 3 issues with your positions:

1) if the oil is no longer good business, why is this government spending billions in oil prospecting instead of agriculture in the north? As slow as gej is, he realized that agriculture makes more sense in the north and it was claimed that his government did well in that sector at least.

2) if the price of oil has fallen globally, why is the product not at its lowest prices in naija? Pump prices all over the world have fallen. It is only in naija that this singular economic truth, the demand and supply theory, doesn't apply. I am paying about what I paid 10 yrs ago for gas. In naija, the gas is not available sef.

3) you mentioned raising taxes: really? Nigerians don't have jobs. Most can't feed. The government is not helping and has never helped Nigerians in terms of providing Healthcare, infrastructures, enabling environment for anything, yet you talk of raising taxes? Companies are laying off and you talk of raising taxes?

My solution :

PMB should quit wasting our resources on the useless travels. He should sell off at least 8 of the presidential fleets. Train all his wards in Nigeria and stop that his hypocrisy and double standard. He should lead by example. I had hoped he would live an austere life and cut down on our overhead but things under him, appear to be the same as the administrations before him.

His war against corruption is full of bias. He needs to rise above partisanship and realize that he's the president of nigeria and not APC or the north. At the moment, I rate him better than gej in fighting BH. Hope I am right. Other than that, he's just the same as all the assholes who were ahead of him. Same pmb that claimed to be poor, doesn't care about the masses anymore?

Nigerians are suffering. Anything we can do to alleviate their pain, is good news.

NIGERIANS ARE GENERALLY MENTALLY LOW.

Your fridge no cold, ordinary soft drink no dey your fridge. In 2 days, 3 different people called me to desperately beg for money either to eat or buy drugs.

Fuel for my gen and car is N200 a litre. And hausa fulani commentators on this facebook post are standing with buhari till hunger kpeme dem.

Thats how parochial and tribally divided this country is. They can, but have refused to challenge this current leadership to go ask Jonathan how he gave Nigerians fuel at N87 per litre during his tenure.

Instead what you hear these mammals cry is ARREST JONATHAN.

Smh..

Surely, they all my angry IPOB brothers from the land of rising sun. They will never see anything good in this government.
maybe their anger caused fuel and light scarcity. Hypocrite! Give us fuel. Diezani gave us for years. Give us for 2 months. Just 2 months. What 2 men cannot do( dullard Buhari and Kachikwu) one woman(Diezani) did with ja"ra.

So I was going through the comments here and I just can't help but shake my head for some of our vibrant youths that are still ignorant that we should be greatful that someone like Buhari is taking the bold step to bring about change in this country, I listened to president barrack Obama earlier on today while addressing youths in London and he made mention of this 3 words "CHANGE TAKES TIME" so all of these 'ignorant' youths that doesn't know Buhari is actually working for our course so that by the time we start controlling the affairs of this nation it wouldn't be difficult for us as it is for him now... So you all want to see a change of what has gone wrong with Nigeria since the past 30 or 40 years solved withing 1 year abi? Y'all should rethink though everything isn't as we want it now but sooner we will get there, let us all clamour for change rather that the rubbish and most shameful #BringBackOurCorruption campaign that most of our youths received with open hands. Let's all gather together to foster peace and unity withing ourselves and work towards a greater Nigeria rather than wailing and bashing the only one person that has been courageous enough to take the Bull by the horn and correct the wrongs that has been done already.
PS: I DON'T SUPPORT ANY POLITICAL GROUP AND NEITHER AM I SIDING ANY PARTY ALL I WANT IS FOR MY DEAR COUNTRY NIGERIA IS TO BE A BETTER COUNTRY FOR ME, MY FRIENDS AND CHILDREN YET UNBORN, ALL I WANT IS CHANGE AND I'M HAPPY IT HAS STARTED. the result will all be ours to benefit from. #GodBless
