pls mamas in d house o. my baby is 3weeks. he sucks for more than n hour. thought my milk not flowing well.I introduce formula. once I breastfeed him. but now he won't stop asking for food. he want everything in his mouth. he never stop sucking my breast. yet my milk flow is high. as am typing he still crying he nid more.his stomach is so filled up. yet still nid more. don't know wat to do o.
my nipple don turn red o n it hurts.

How many mils of formula are you giving him? Could be he is not getting enough or you are making it too light, remember boys have a more ferocious appetite than girls and they can suck for the whole world.

What is his current weight? At his age he should be on 100-120 mil of 4 scoops of fomula, try to feed him more frequently! Like every three hours.
And since you said His stomach is full it may not be hunger, it could be colic.

I do combination feeding for my son cos breast milk was never enough no matter how long I let him suck! To him that one is just appetizer.

Go with what chinweydm has said please! If Na me I go don give am small water make him for quiet since
Truly as cutienik too has said sometimes he may just want a cuddle or a better position or some.quiet around him sef.

Brownskingirl, it may not be hunger, have you tried backing him, singing. Then have you ruled out colic. That is if you have satisfied your conscience that the milk you have him is enough

I think you're not suppose to re-freeze it after taking it out. At room temperature, it can stay for 5 hours without getting contaminated.

Hello,
I assume you heated the whole bottle to give your baby. once it has been heated any remnants should be discarded if not used.

Try freezing in smaller containers so that the baby is likely to finish one bottle per feed.

If you freeze a larger container, either leave it out to defrost on its own or leave in the fridge to defrost. Then turn the quantity needed into a smaller bottle to feed the baby and refridgirate the rest and use all ideally within 24 hrs.

Do not refreeze any thawed milk.


To be honest i know many mums will say discard the left over in the bottle as soon as lo finishes , but if it is is quite a bit left, and i know my lo will feed in less than 4 hrs i usually keep it for her next feed and if she still doesnt finish it, i then toss it. I dont bother reheating it for this second feed.

My logic to this is that expressed milk can last up to 6 hours at room temperature before it is advised not to use it. Therefore i intend to maximise my pumping efforts.
Others may think differently.

P.S : also to clarify, the teat i use for my bottle is the medela calma which has a valve so the baby has to suck to get it to open therefore the is no flowback of saliva and the like into the milk .

Hian! Na starve you don dey starve the pikin since oh. Please read the body of the formula and measure the no of scoops appropriate for his age and weight. You can make it a scoop less so it wont be too thick or alternatively give him water at intervals to prevent constipation. Its not good to give formula arbitrarily you know follow the instructions please.

You can start off with 125ml capacity bottles

If not just keep him warmer,place a few drops of eucalyptus oil either siverbird or olbas on a face towel and place it on the neck of his cloth so he can keep inhaling it. Massage his chest and back plus feet with a hot towel at bath time and reduce his exposure to fan and ac.

Its not enough, follow the feeding guide stated on the tin for his age and weight, feed him every 3hours! You can breastfeed him first before giving the formula. The 125 mil bottle is OK for now just measure it to stop at 100 mil .

I ate moi moi very well and it didn't affect my baby in any way

Sabi mamas have answered you, next tym if you want to defrost, bring out the milk ahead of time and allow to defrost on its own, quickly pour out the one you will use for baby and keep the rest back to be used as soon as possible. I always pour out milk little by little to avoid wasting it.

Some days later I notice pus coming out from his ear. I then took him to General Hospital Gbagada I was asked to go for ear swab and after which I was asked to buy Orelox, Zyncet with Vit c which I gave him for one week and I gave him the complete dosage I notice some pus still comes out of his ear not just that one both now. What do I do? Or have anyone experienced such? Thanks

my dear eat moin moon o, ur baby needs it. food don't go directly to d breast it break down before transmitting d nutrients as BM.

I haven't but I think you should take him back to the hospital so they can review the drug since it doesnt seem to be working.

Not to scare you but I know someone who was born ok buh became deaf before the age of 2 due to an ear infection.
