Awww!.. Sorry bro..It will surely be better next time, I was also once in your shoes when gunning for US schools last year..
What your research interest?, which schools did you apply to?, which schools do you plan to apply this time around?.

It will surely end in praise bro!..

Interest urban geography/city planning and GIS. Ryerson, Toronto and Manitoba. Any 5 that offer funding. That's my believe too. Go to your school, you may be helping with the supervisor part in your school. Lolz. Which school you going?

A lovely Sunday and a blissful week ahead to all TRV applicants and admission hopefuls.

Please for Paper route, does one need to submit the study permit questionnaire and checklist coupled with the two CIC forms

Secondly, how can I locate Alagbon for Police clearance, the directions.

I think your package is on point. However, family going with you? Have enough funds personally or a close relative to act as sponsor? Have assests like shared, bonds, cars, houses, etc to your name? Have you gone through this thread? Shalom!
Thanks adeyemidare for your advice. Am going with my kids yes but I intend to put in their application when mine is out. My dad is my sponsor and my hubby my Co sponsor. They both have properties in their names...yes I have been reading the thread, of a truth the thread has been extremely helpful.

Hello house
Kindly help me out here. I have applied for study visa twice last year and all was refused. 1st- just only travel history and purpose of visit. 2nd- 8 counts charge (purpose of visit, travel history, length of stay, family ties, employment prospects in residing country, insufficient fund of all the 3 type there. All using online submission.
Now I want to apply again using paper submission for a 2yrs course against 4 yrs course before. Have travelled to dubai to clear travel history. My sponsor is still my brother who lives and work in Canada (a prof)
How else could I over come all these charges.
I want to apply first week in May. Please help out with relevant information. Thank you.

@miZbaby, et al:

CIC already has that information anyways

justwise:

You did, when you said: Pls don't let them know you have a brother in Canada that simply means lie to them if asked.

Of course Canadian embassy wants students to integrate and enjoy their experiences while in Canada because that is what gives Canada high rating as the best place for foreign students, student give feedback on social medias and forums like this which helps convince prospective students to choose Canada.

Having a family member who is legally living in Canada is a positive thing because you are more likely to save on accommodation and bills at least for the initial stage before finding your feet and that also means that you are more likely to concentrate on your studies and not working part time as soon you land in Canada.

Questions they ask in visa application are material to application, so withholding any info is a deliberate act.

Its better to get refused on genuine reasons then you work on them and reapply than getting a visa on falsehood which will be held against you for a very very long time.

Then by all means proffer a solution to this guy's problem. If he applies again under the same conditions, it's most likely he will be denied again for the third time. What you are saying makes sense in theory that's all. It is never an advantage to have a relative abroad for someone going to study. If the student has enough funds, he will settle in fast, that's why they want they want to make sure you have enough money. Nobody here cares about how you are enjoying Canada, it is only your school that may even show some concern.

In his case like @segunwamiri pointed out, it may even be too late for that. They already have that information, so maybe he should just find another Nigerian based sponsor and try his luck. I have relatives in the US and one in Canada that I'm living with. I was not asked about them so I did not mention them. I know from experience it is never an advantage except for PR.

If you don't agree please kindly advise him otherwise, but if he applies again and gets denied, it's on you.

You talking about falsehood makes me laugh, it's like someone applying for a job and writes his whole life history including when he stole N5 from his mum when he was 10 yrs old. Please let us be real here.

Haaa, @Gtb. It seem you were charged by USD rate or master card rate or something. CAD should range from 150-160 officially.

Why not do it in the bank? You're better off with Stanbic. I was advised that they would use the prevailing official rate for the day provided I come with my admission letter/tuition breakdown

I've come to realise that canada visa application can be likened to a point based system where applicants that score above a certain amount of score are approved.
Some criteria give u points while some take points from you...

A Nigerian friend applied from Qatar and his visa was approved. I believe this was majorly down to him going for a PHD. If the same person were to be going for a PGC, diploma or second UG it might be more difficult.

Even if he coul have been regarded as a potential runnaway, the fact that he was going for a PHD overrode any bias the VO might have.

So for @rommyayo I wil like to ask which program you're going for? What is your previo educational qualification?

@justwise I agree with @mizbaby as to leaving out any information that won't possibly aid your application...
For example I stated my brother is engaged and is livin alone just to reduce the numbe of dependent the VO would presume my sponsor has.

Also having a canadian or US sponsor shouldnt affect ur app negatively if the relationship isn't too suspiscious....
But it could lead to u needing to show a stronger home tie...as your tie to canada seems so strong.....

Abeg make una forget all dis tie tie thing if ure going for a masters after the BSC or goin for a PHD......even if all ur family member dey canada ur visa chanc is high......

So I believe it's more about ur overall educational profile not some attached circumstance....

I don't like you oh. But this response is a very brilliant one. Clap for yourself wink

It's not too early to reapply, provided you've solved all the reasons for your denial. I wish you the best this time.

If you are a 3rd class graduate, please note only 3 schools accept 3rd class for PGD. They are; Conestoga College, Niagara College, & Fanshawe College.

Good morning guys...

I've got that gut feeling that we'll have testifiers this week... let's start believing.

How does payment of a year's tuition (assuming a 2-year course) and accommodation affect one's visa application?
