What I've noticed is that this reluctance to help is now a general attitude In all government hospitals. They got to the hospital and Personnels would rather give excuses rather than help. It's sad but maybe doctors need to see this to know the pains many people have experienced with their lackadaisical attitudes and reluctance to help. What goes around comes around. They need urgent symposia to address these issues in every state of Nigeria. God help us all

I wish we could tell how many needless and avoidable deaths that happen almost daily in this country. Why shouldn't we have mobile ambulances and emergency medical services along major highways? Why shouldn't our roads be in better shape? Lots of these things are voted for in our budgets year by year. I wish you knew the historic haggling, subterfuge and deception that characterizes budget process and even contract execution in Nigeria. When it comes to money and their personal interests, our politicians unite while the uniformed will be busy on internet insulting each other for one party or another.

Road safety no fuel in their car, then no doctor and painkillers in an hospital and the nurses running here and there looking for nothing. What a shame. And to the surviving doctors I hope they will learn better in handling emergency when patients are rushed to their hospitals because this is what common and poor Nigerians pass through in seeking for medical attention

You are totally correct. There should be a doctor on duty but why was he not? These doctors have just experienced a paradigm of what countless patients experience in hospitals daily. But when it involves a nobody, it doesn't make news.

Exactly bro! The situation in this country is sickening. How come there was no doctor on duty? It's hard to take.

our hospitals are so annoying, you hardly get any emergency requirement, government don't have a real budget for our hospitals, even the little allocation they will release to this hospitals , those at the top will share it. believing they will always have the means to travel outside Nigeria for their medical check.

Exactly, bro. I'm not God o, but this could be karma judging by what several patients go through in the hands on some of these doctors. If I may ask, where was the doctor who was supposed to be on duty? Would this have made news if it involved some six people who are 'nobody' in the society? Whatever goes round, comes round.
May their souls rest in peace and may God bless their families!

Most accident victims die as a result of lack of first aid treatment. Our healthcare has to overhauled. our politicians are not even helping matters. instead of adequate funding of our health sector, they jet out for mere headache.RIP doctors!

even if their was a doctor what would he have done, I read the nurses were saying, no this no that, may be the doctor in quote have seen how epileptic the hospital is.
during my service year we had a lady that was in labour, we rushed here to a nearby hospital, lo and behold, their was no doctor no bed not even a disposable gloves. we had to catch the baby like that. thank God for being a God of women. He saved this woman and her new baby.

That part where you said maybe these doctors need to experience this so that they can have a feel of what countless number of patients go through due to their negligent attitude has been my thought since yesterday; just that I've been loathe to say it so people wouldn't tag me with bad names. Who knows whether the doctor who should be on duty was in his private hospital? Too many patients experience this daily but no one talks about it.
What goes round comes round! May God continue to bless the hardworking doctors who have the interest of their patients at heart!

This is so sad.

Which way Nigeria?

No fuel, no medical equipment and supplies, no medical doctor on duty in broad day light (not even midnight yet)

Where is the change?

May God grant the affected families the fortitude to bear such a great loss

Now those in the Government including the president should stop travelling by air to other states and travel by road and experience what Nigerians are experiencing. they can mourn the death of those close to them and even tell the world to morn with them but ignore the deaths of the masses that die everyday on the same road. the death of these 7 doctors is really tragic cos 7 doctors can save 7,000. RIP to them cry
