Academic activites have come to a standstill in the University of Ibadan as Students have "gone on strike".

The protest, which started "unofficially" yesterday, is in two folds. One is to protest the extra academic session given to a student for leading a protest last year and also to protest against the epileptic power supply which the School has been experiencing for quite some time now.
The protest started about 12:00 am today at Nnamdi Azikwe Hall, (the Baluba kingdom) and spread to all other hall, leading to the shutting of the school gate and blocking major roads at about 6 am.
Lecture theatre are empty and some students (like me grin

) have taken the opportunity to wash clothes and catch up on much needed sleep.

Guys, don't start pls. The management will get back at u, in a callous manner at that. Over time, protest only exacerbate the already worse situation so it's only adviseable to employ other mean of settling ur squabble. Expect indefinite closure of ur sch.
