Did you manage to conveniently forget that your party controls the nass AND the presidency?
Do you and other party members plan to demand that your power brokers cut their income in order to make the new minimum wage a reality?
Also, as the party in power I'm sure you can direct all the worries in your comments straight to your party leaders. Pls make sure you give us feedback from them eh?

I concur. Raise the minimum wage but right size to balance the books. Just give each MDA a specific target.

No herd management system here. If you can pay, do so. No two States, LGA or even parastatal should be paying the same. Scrap the useless salary scale and make Head's act like CEO's.

As a matter of fact Osun state is not paying that 18,000# as minimum wage yet NLC have been sleeping on their right for these past years

Whether stated can pay #18k or not is not the issue. The law stipulates that review of minimum wage is every 5 years, period.

it is more realistic for Labour to press for prompt payment of existing salaries and gratuity / pensions without too much deduction as is the case now. The call for increase in salaries desirable as it is, is dead on arrival because of economic realities.

There are many things to fight for not this hilarious demand, first like someone rightly said Nlc should do everything in their power to force these our politicians especially the executive n Nass to reduce their salary n the nonsense allowance they are collecting, how can the president be spending 1.7b on feeding,are they killing human beings for him everyday?

I don't think this is entirely silly. Government should come to the round table as required, but NLC shouldn't expect a review in minimum wage for now. Insisting on an increment will be what is silly.

NLC should rather work to put pressure on government so as to ensure proper budget implementation, reduce corruption and leakages in the system.

Further, all political office holders should accept pay cuts even if they've accepted any before in tune with the austerity in the land and in solidarity with Nigerian workers.
