All these rants abt pharmacy this n pharmacy dat shld stop. If u want to study pharmacy in skul u must ve passion for it n don't jst think abt the money. The money will definitely com wen u set ur passion right. As a pharmacist u will certainly not go hungry wen u knw ur onion bt u might nt b so wealthy as ppl portray it. I knw some of my senior colleagues dat are yet 2 find their feet in the profession however most are living big n comfortable after abt 5 yrs of graduation n marry b4 30yrs of age. Some after 10yrs of graduation are yet to show even motorcycle for it. The bottom line is if u don't follow ur passion u will fail but if u follow ur passion n knw what ur doing money won't b ur problem. Infact, most medical doctors envy successful community pharmacists cos they are far wealthier than they are(Drs). I still knw of some female pharmacists that earn less than 80k although nt full time bt that's their only place of work . In conclusion, their are some FAILED PHARMACISTS however most are SUCCESSFUL. 6 Likes |

Op please don't read pharmacy because u want to make money. Don't listen to most people here because they don't know what they are saying, like someone advised, go and meet some pharmacist and hear their advice. CONHESS 10 is far different from the normal civil service grade 10. |

IZANAMI: Well said I'm sure this person wasn't lucky to read Pharmacy.maybe screened out of the department.reason for the beef.in dese country today so many oil and gas guys wana divulge into the Pharmacy business today. Last year the former MD of Bank PHB spoke to me one and one about the opportunities of chain pharmacies in Nigeria.which he would like to key into.i gave him the necessary information he needed not without collectyn my consultation fee though.today he has started his own Pharmacy employing Pharmacist to use their license and paying them handsomely. The Pharmacy is in VI in lagos.and he is looking to expand.currently as we speak there are plans for the big Retail chain Pharmacies abroad to cum into the Nigerian market (boots, wallgreens).a lot of potentials are yet to be untapped in the Pharmaceutical industry.the future is very bright for a young Pharmacist in Nigeria today.of course u have to be streetwise, know ur onions, network, bargain very well and most of all develop urself.ull be amazed at how well ull do over tyme.a lot of opportunities exist for Pharmacies in the country and beyond.new Mulltinational Pharmaceutical companies are cuming into the country each year.they employ Pharmacist and pay them the way they pay their Medical representatives in other countries.when u work under someone and u make enough money u can decide to start ur own.the key is getting a good location I'm talking of retail Pharmacies here.if u check the trend now most people don't wana go to the hospital and pay huge bills while they can just get into the Pharmacy and speak wt a Pharmacist and get quality drugs wt less hazzle.not all Pharmacist are rich, some are average, but none is poor at least they earn more dan the minimum wage.but most Pharmacist fall between the middle class and high class.we are better off than most doctors cos we don't depend on Federal Government jobs like most of them.we are far better off on our own in our private business. And a Pharmacist and Pharmacologist are different.a Pharmacist is a drug expert who knows everytyn about drug production, drug interaction, sourcing of drug materials,Pharmacy regulation.he has a license to import and export drugs, distribute, counsel and administer drugs to patients based on his vast knowledge of drugs. A Pharmacologist on the other hand. Just learnt about one aspect of Pharmacy which is the study of drug usage, interaction, adverse effect notyn else.he doesn't know hw the drug is produced nor how the raw materials are sourced cos his scope his limited to wat the drug does and just information about the drug on the body.in Nigeria It's only 2 schools that offer Pharmacology as a B.sc course which is Unilag and Delsu. Pharm techs on the other hand just handle dispensing and countyn of drugs. A Pharm technologist is not a B.sc Holder it's just a 3 year programme and u bag a technical certificate.there is one at Yaba school of health technology a department of Pharm technology.so don't get it all mixed up they are different from each other. 15 Likes |

psalm121vs1: Oga it's either u are oblivious of what happening in Pharmacy or you are just a bad belle.that law you are talking about didnt hold waters.they were contemplatyn on that law 2 years ago i.e the one that says if u have not been in practice for up to 5 years u can be a superintendent Pharmacist in a retail Pharmacy.while if u have not been in practice for up to 10 years u can't be a superintendent Pharmacist in an wholesale outlet so please stop saying what you don't know. And since then that proposed law has been dead and buried. Not to surface ever again.we young Pharmacist fought for it. Oga im a superintendent pharmacist in one of the big retail chain Pharmacies in Nigeria and they paid me for my license and I've not practiced for up to 5 years. Please don't confuse people,Pharmay is gold now in Naija.u cud bcum a boss of ur own with little or no effort in these country where so many graduates are complaining. Of joblessness a Pharmacy intern like me bought my first car.if that's not lucrative what is dat the salary I earned peeps from oda courses dat ve worked for 10years in some companies wud not dream of earning dat even with their 10 years.so give me a break and let the people dat have a passion for the course read the course and stop being a badbelle.am sure u cudnt make it through Pharmacy school.stop hatyn 8 Likes 1 Share |

eridos:My dear I dont like pharmacy as a course..I studied ich class of 07 and did my masters in the same..but I m realistic which is why I secured an admission for my sis to study pharm in Madonna with the idea that I will use her licence but thats not reality bro. .because I cant have another shop without employing another pharmacist.amd nafdac makes this things more difficult which is not the same like when juhel started .she will be graduating this year..u said u finished 2012 so u will probably know her..i gathered all this facts while trying to register a pharmaceutical company from pcn..pharm nwizu precisely in anambra..but u without licence is already breaking the bank which is not impossible. .am just saying with the facts on ground..its rare I think u re just newly married..u havent seen the true nature of ur spouse..the infatuation is still crowding ur thoughts but remember if u truly love ur spouse u will have a healthy marriage but if u dont..thats bad news 1 Like |

croSStodds:Hehehe, theres good money in most aspects of Pharmacy just depends on your temperament. I just finished service i have a job already, i earn above 180 every month and i have a second source of income by virtue of being a pharmacist. So i think its cool. The other occupation earning more in health are doctors but they are very limited to a hospital while a pharmacist is not. |

Kunlexic:Not sentiments bro..I really wanted to get into the pharmaceutical wholesale industry. .I realized patent drug dealers at head bridge were really killing the industry. .why do u think the mega drug distributing sector isnt working..but it has already been built..but the men at head bridge will not allow it to function. .it would have been easier. .I had to register with their union instead for that part of business..and trust me most pharmaceutical industry in nigeria depend on this people u educated people call illiterate to survive. .study pharmacy because u love it and want to make a change not because of money cos u will be miserable..in my opinion thats the best course a lady can study and nursing as well or medical lab science |
