To some it's small, but to me it's huge. my elder sis is currently earning #320 000(monthly) with an official car +driver. started working there 2 months ago. and they(others who passed the interview) went on two weeks training, all sponsored by the company.

it's a really lucrative business/career. I've not seen any pharmacist earning less than 120k.
No dey whine oooo, All this medical Fields no dey lucrative

As a pharmacists, you have options of field to practice.
Hospital as a clinical pharmacist
Community pharmacy also as a clinical pharmacist
Industrial pharmacy as regulatory pharmacist (responsible for registration and liaising with regulatory bodies), production pharmacist ( manufacture of drugs) or
sales and marketing responsible for selling, distribution and brand building.
There is also research and academics.
I am in sales and marketing, and I think it is the most lucrative and also most challenging.
NGO is also very lucrative for pharmacists, but not so easy to get like the others.

Omo me when I go grad Pharmacy School like this?.
I want to go into tech full time, I am programmer already and I earn even without been a full stack.

Liar! Pharmacology itself is pharmacy. Other aspects of pharmacy are packaging.
Pharmacology is everything both Pharmacy and Medicine

That is what he means by that.
Lol Pharmacy is the Drug maker and the caregiver for drug, so if you write rubbish we won't dispense that shi.

Pharmacy my dear Pharmacy!!!
Every parent wants his child to read pharmacy nowadays cos it's lucrative, the day of our induction igbo Men came in to look for female pharmacist to get married to so they can use their license to import and export drugs.it wasn't a bed of roses though,i remember the tension of pre-qualifiying exams and professionals, the cramming of structures, the reading of vague things which were incoherent cos we couldn't see most of them.
Thank God dose days are all over.i started working before I was inducted into the Pharmacist council of Nigeria. Without a certificate and a license, and I was earning more than most bankers.i went ahead to do my internship at Federal Neuropsychiatric hospital lagos, was also working in a community Pharmacy in the evening.anyone who knows Federal Neuropsychiatric hospital Lagos knows it's the Highest Paying for Pharmacy interns throughout the country.as an intern Pharmacist( A Pupil Pharmacist) I was earning more dan 200k in a month from my 2 jobs.after my one year internship I proceeded to do my Nysc. I was posted to Lagos "don't ask me how I got lagos"!!i served in an health centre in eti osa locaal government in the morning and in the evening I go to my community Pharmacy I was close to 200k with all my allowances from FG which is the 19,800 local government which pays 30k and my dear community Pharmacy that paid me the largest chunk of my salary I won't tell u how much I earned from my Pharmacy but all my allowance for the month was close to 200k. I bought my first car during my internship and also rented an apartment on my own with my money.with no assistance from my parents. Now am done with service I got another Job in one of the Chain Pharmacies in Nigeria.ever since I graduated I've been smiling to the bank. Alert has not stopped entering my account.
My license was paid for and put in use by my company apart from my monthly salary.
And the opportunities are enormous u can grow, have ur Pharmacy, decide to import drugs, go into politics.being a Pharmacist makes u street wise.cos uve been tutored informally under so many aspects
Business administration, marketyn. In Abroad Pharmacist are one of the highest Paid professionals u cud switch over and go practice there. Just a few exams to convert you and enable u practice dere

I gave this little epistle for young ones who are confused of a career choice.Pharmacy is one u won't regret. It's a stepping stone to greater achievements.so if u feel u have what it takes give it a shot and follow ur dream.i feel fulfilled adding value to the life's of my patients and for them cuming back to thank me that the drug I gave them worked.makes me feel I ddnt make a mistake reading Pharmacy.

Mind you the profession still has some short comings as no profession is 100 percent without hazzles.but the future is bright for young Pharmacist.
I Rep Pharmacy class of 2012.Madonna University Elele Rivers state#

All they do is sell drugs to patients in hospitals on presentation of prescription notes given to em by doctors. They neither prescribe nor deliver the drugs. Anybody with ssce or other higher degrees can do that.
Lol go ahead and dispenese

U can still get ur points across without being aggressive. ..lemme give another fact
1.U have to work for at least five years before u become a supretendant pharmacist that is u cant register a shop even with ur licence except u ve worked for five years..which is why what eridos posted is not logical except he was lucky
2.bsc with professional certificate like ican is automatic grade 10
3.dont expect to be paid the same thing u earned during internship
and in summary dont think u better than anyone cos this is really the reason why there re so many unemployed graduates..I mean u just said I dared compare English with pharmacy but what u should know is this in terms of academics a prof is a prof. .no one really cares about ur area of expertise and in the corporate world anybody can be anybody..
u might have a dream of working for orange drugs..just remember he dint finish high school
I know understand your area, but sir you are not making any point.

Are you a Pharmacist?

Well, i don't know about about "least score" but i got a 220 and I'm currently studying pharmacy. Without any external help. Though, if you got a score like i did you will have to work extremely hard in the putme: that is, without any help. My total agg. was a 66.5.

Pharmacists aint needed? Help me tell ur sec school degree holder to help me answer these questions... even u urslf can answer it since u said Pharmaceutics nd other aspects of pharmacy re under Pharmacology??

Send 200ml of a 2%w/v copper sulphate solution. Label with directions for preparing 200ml of a lotion containing copper sulphate 1 in 1000 for use in the hospital ward.

even a PhD degree holder without a standard knowledge of pharmaceutics cnt answer this... that's a prescription ooo ... u guys re just vexing me with ur ignorant ideas... u should come nd taste zero in ceutics lab before making silly conclusions thinking pharmacists just sell drugs wen we actually prepare nd dispense most times...

Can a sec school degree holder identify a pioson without the label??

Nxt time u visit a pharmacy store, u ll actually say kudoz to em, no wonder they're being paid well in the hospital while the community pharmacists re also making huge profit. ..... The course ain't moimoi until u actually taste it, u wnt knw how far.

Lol yeah oo, that is the basis of pharmacuetics the first thing to be taken in pharm school.
Only a Pharmacist and a Pharm tech can answer that.

2 percentage weight per volume label 5ml tds.

Omo compounding no dey easy honestly

its going well no carry over courses so far thnk God the stress is really something, pharmacy is a rewarding profession that requirs ur entire dedication so much to learn in such little time, you have situations of dear close friends falling by the wayside dats either repeating or being withdrawn sometimes you ask urself is the stress worth it can i still go on but everytime i go to induction of senoir colleugues and i see them in their glorious induction gowns and i hear dat music :stand up for the champions i feel renewed and dream of me being in their shoes so yes pharmacy is a challenging course but if ure disciplined, organized and dedicated u will surely suceed there.
You got it bro

This should do justice to the the topic. Straight out of Google and Wikipedia. Sometimes I wonder why Pharmacist never keep comparing themselves to doctors it's more like part of their training. Lolz. Pharmacy is a noble profession but they should know their boundaries. With all the comparison almost all pharmacist I know would kill for their kids to go to medical school and become a doctor. I have seen Pharmacist who have graduated and come back to study medicine. I'm yet to see a Doctor leaving medicine for pharmacy or cajoling their kids into pharmacy.
This mofo forgot to compare the work hours and the night shift.

Well said I'm sure this person wasn't lucky to read Pharmacy.maybe screened out of the department.reason for the beef.in dese country today so many oil and gas guys wana divulge into the Pharmacy business today. Last year the former MD of Bank PHB spoke to me one and one about the opportunities of chain pharmacies in Nigeria.which he would like to key into.i gave him the necessary information he needed not without collectyn my consultation fee though.today he has started his own Pharmacy employing Pharmacist to use their license and paying them handsomely. The Pharmacy is in VI in lagos.and he is looking to expand.currently as we speak there are plans for the big Retail chain Pharmacies abroad to cum into the Nigerian market (boots, wallgreens).a lot of potentials are yet to be untapped in the Pharmaceutical industry.the future is very bright for a young Pharmacist in Nigeria today.of course u have to be streetwise, know ur onions, network, bargain very well and most of all develop urself.ull be amazed at how well ull do over tyme.a lot of opportunities exist for Pharmacies in the country and beyond.new Mulltinational Pharmaceutical companies are cuming into the country each year.they employ Pharmacist and pay them the way they pay their Medical representatives in other countries.when u work under someone and u make enough money u can decide to start ur own.the key is getting a good location I'm talking of retail Pharmacies here.if u check the trend now most people don't wana go to the hospital and pay huge bills while they can just get into the Pharmacy and speak wt a Pharmacist and get quality drugs wt less hazzle.not all Pharmacist are rich, some are average, but none is poor at least they earn more dan the minimum wage.but most Pharmacist fall between the middle class and high class.we are better off than most doctors cos we don't depend on Federal Government jobs like most of them.we are far better off on our own in our private business.
And a Pharmacist and Pharmacologist are different.a Pharmacist is a drug expert who knows everytyn about drug production, drug interaction, sourcing of drug materials,Pharmacy regulation.he has a license to import and export drugs, distribute, counsel and administer drugs to patients based on his vast knowledge of drugs.

A Pharmacologist on the other hand. Just learnt about one aspect of Pharmacy which is the study of drug usage, interaction, adverse effect notyn else.he doesn't know hw the drug is produced nor how the raw materials are sourced cos his scope his limited to wat the drug does and just information about the drug on the body.in Nigeria It's only 2 schools that offer Pharmacology as a B.sc course which is Unilag and Delsu.

Pharm techs on the other hand just handle dispensing and countyn of drugs. A Pharm technologist is not a B.sc Holder it's just a 3 year programme and u bag a technical certificate.there is one at Yaba school of health technology a department of Pharm technology.so don't get it all mixed up they are different from each other.

You didn't do your assignment very well Lol.
Pharmacologist area of specialization is producing drugs and testing it for good results.
And you are even comparing someone that graduated from a college to a bachelor degree holder whose area of specialization is pharmacology. That's so wrong.
