I'm thinking of getting an is250 (2012)
I know it's pretty much a corolla but I just love how it looks!
And coming from a 2010 Avalon, is there anything I should be mindful of apart from space?

That's not a cool comparison (Is250 - corolla), the Lexus beats the corolla in so many aspects, ernogomics, luxury, balance, speed, good levinson speaker, power and also good handling. etc, except for fuel consumption. Well, the Is250 isn't a bad ride compared to the avalon, but the avalon is faster and also a luxury ride. For an upgrade, the is250 isn't bad. Maybe u should consider GS300. That's also a bad ass japanese ride.

The is250 is a fair comparison with your Avalon, but not the corolla.
I don't think their is an equivalent to the corolla, in the Lexus Kingdom!!!
The only thing you should be mindful of is, after your upgrade to the is250, your luxurious buds would awaken to the bigger engine Lexus has on offer.
You would be shocked how 2 different cars from the same company, are miles apart in all ramifications!!!

the is250 is not a corolla in any way at all. its a nice car. get the more powerful is350 perhaps?

Atapaint ataspray, corolla,sienna and Camry plenty pass lexus for road so lexus is rare

no avalon is faster than an is350. best to consider would be the is350 (306hp)

well the is250 has a smaller v6 engine, but the avalon should be much more heavier.

The IS series is the Corolla equivalent of the Lexus even tho the only similarity may be the size. Its a very good buy if you do not intend making the owner's corner a routine seat in the car.

Lexus IS is never a corolla equivalent, they share no common part. Not same foundation, not same drive set up nothing similar. They're two worlds apart.

Now, this curves can make a man have wet dreams!!!!

Hmm IS250,now that is one cool car,and it is NOT related to anty corolla. But like the corolla that spitfire doesn't guzzle much. She sips at 21mpg for city and about 29mpg for highway. I don't know about u but That's a pass for me. Pretty miss Lexina IS is also rear wheel drive and has like 200 million buttons for to push. Although the folks at the back might have numb legs cos the space is most suitable for junior and his siblings. Your 2010 avalon with 248 horsepower is more powerful than the 204 horsepower IS250. So if u want to upgrade in the power aspect,there's the IS350. Now she is mean to the bone with 305 horsepower,reducing mpg to 18/25. Still within the OK range if u ask me.

Wow didn't think the Avalon is faster than an is250...

The Avalon is a much bigger car tho, so thinking power to weight ratio, the is250 may be faster...
Need to do some more research I guess... I want to go smaller not slower

Haha... 5 years later and I'm still rocking the Avalon. I fall in love with it all over again whenever I start researching available IS350s.

The Avalon looks so good and with just 50k miles on the clock, still has plenty of life in it. .. And it is still fast. A c-class couldn't keep up with me on 3mb
