you would first take the 3 hour drug and alcohol class, take the test and pass it.

About 50% pass and 50% fail the test at first attempt. After you pass the online skills test, the final step would be scheduling your drivers road test appointment. Right there at the MVA you would schedule a date for the actual road test. There's also walk-in for the road test if you don't wanna book a date but getting tested on any given day you go to the MVA is not assured due long queues of other walk-in candidates.

Any which way, before your drivers road test, be sure to go to a driving school near you to have them brush you up on your driving skills.

Safe driving in the US. Don't drink and drive! Watch out for those crazy drivers and make sure you get your car insurance with full coverage, not liability only, for a new driver to the US especially for your first 6 months of driving here.

You don't need a drug/alcohol certificate to get a License in Virginia
You don't need to go to a driving school.Just download the driver's handbook from DMV's website, read and practice with someone who already drives here..you can also get practice tests online. The exams are easy
Dealers will typically not allow you get just liability if you're not making full payment when you pick up your car.

Thanks a lot. I appreciate. Another question I would like to ask is, is West Virginia different from West Virginia and what is Texas known just as California is known for high tech and entertainment in respect to Silicon Valley and Los Angeles. I [b]do hope to transfer to Harvard University after a semester.[b]What are my chances of getting admitted because I researched their site and found out there is funding for international students who can't afford the fee. Can my essay and interview do the magic because I never attended an international school like lekki British school nor corona. Truly that's my dream school.

That's generally an expensive area to live. Look for places west toward Vienna, and you can get relatively cheaper apartments. You'll be looking at anything from $1200 and up for a 2-bed($600 each bed) aside utilities. Better still, look for students of say George Mason looking for people to share apartment with.

Yea I confirmed that he doesn't need the 3 hour drug and alcohol for Virginia in the ending part of my post if you read it till the end.

Reading and practicing the manual isn't the same as actually driving on the road. The manual is helpful and it's there to help you scale through the online test. However, the driving test itself is a little bit of a different reality. The state of MD, being very close to the seat of government, is quite strict in their laws and hence I strongly recommend being thorough in going about it. Maybe in other states things are not so strict as MD. He doesn't really have to go to a driving school but I strongly recommend it or I also mentioned he could have someone who already drives in the US teach him too. Having a driving school brush you up is preferred because of the changing driving test rules and these schools are often up to date with the latest DMV driving test methods whereas an individual who took his test 7 years ago may not be familiar with the latest driving test rules. And by going to a driving school, I did not mean as a new driver which would require weeks of training but a basic brush up of his driving skills lasting no more than 2 hours. Most driving schools do this.

Some dealers will allow you get liability. Or some people may get full coverage just to be able to get the car only to call the insurance company later to change the package or switch insurance company altogether for the liability insurance. The importance of having full insurance coverage is quite high, especially for a new driver to the US.

It's possible to transfer to Harvard University while here but you'll need to have obtained admission first from the school and their I20 to be able to transfer.

Texas is generally the 'Niger Delta' of the United States. It has a great percentage of the oil resources of the United States and it is a very rich and big state. It is the hub of the oil producing companies in the US and where anyone with background in oil and gas wants to be. However, the oil price crunch has affected the oil and gas industry in the state and many companies are laying off staff members.

Have you heard about forced insurance? You make a change to your comprehensive coverage during the period of financing that reduces your coverage and your insurance company lets the dealership know...then they add the cost (usually more expensive) to your monthly payments.

I had liability coverage for about 2 years, and have had comprehensive coverage for more than 2 years...choosing between the two is usually easy. You're trying to save money as a student and you get liability on a used car...you go get a new car, you get comprehensive. Once your car is paid off, you decide what you want.

For the US it depends on the state. In Maryland, for example, you are legally allowed to drive with your international driver's license for up to 1 year but not all police officers are aware of this. In MD, you have up to 1 year to drive with your license after which you need to get a MD license. There are some police officers that may give you a ticket for 'not driving with a US license' when you are legally allowed to within 1 year of getting here. That is for Maryland. You definitely want to check with the driving rules of the state you are in or intend going to.

Exactly bro, having liability insurance does not make that much sense after all. If one's car gets into an accident and it is one's fault, the insurance company fixes the other driver's car and one has to bear the cost of repairing one's car, including the monthly payment for the car loan remaining still yet to be paid off. This is worse if the car is totaled and nearly irrecoverable. In the end, nothing beats full insurance coverage my dear.

Bigfrancis21, you are a realist. I really want to share a pack of Coronas while we gist on a balcony lool,
let's not compare a functioning system with a system that have to yet to kick start (i.e Nigeria), the things we enjoy in Nigeria are fairytale stories when you tell a white guy trying to survive on 7 bucks a hour, "WHITE PEOPLE ARE LAZY, raising minimum wage is the dumbest idea I have ever seen"..quote from a very educated white friend. I have a family friend who tells me how the "technicians" he works with at Cummins asking him which ivy league school he went to every single day, because they can't believe how he got such position.
Please y'all should try and be positive about your situations, it's only for the main time.

Visa can be rejected for any schools either private or public schools..

At times you need travelling history and sometimes you don't need travelling history to get US student visa..

Do you expect an answer that covers every school and every subject in USA schools?
YOU must contact schools that you are interested in and ask them.
Then you will have facts not guesswork.
