The Real Implications Of The Early May Salaries For Calabar Workers by bongolistik(m): 8:25am On May 02, 2016 |
The 1st of May being workers day saw the governor of Cross Rivers state being generous to the state workers by quickly dishing out May salaries to commemorate the day. It is a kind gesture undoubtedly, but looking critically into it, the implication of this beginning of the month salary payment is that, after now, the next workers salary will be coming towards the ending of June, making it look like the civil servants will have to wait for 2 months before receiving their next salary. In other words, workers who are unable to manage this early salary very well will work for the month of May as if they are offering free service. On your part, will you be happy to receive your May salary on the 1st day and having to wait for 2 months later for your subsequent salary? |

That action was very silly and playing to the gallery. Gov. Ayade has not failed to live up to expectations as a clown and empty head. Who pays a man for a work he has not done? What happens to the people for the rest of the month? Like the OP pointed out, these people are going to work for two months before getting their pay. A typical Nigerian spends his money as it comes; he hardly saves. I wish them luck, especially those that are already squandering their pay. 1 Like |

Imoy:from other angle, don't you think that an avenue for fund mismanagement has just been created by this supposedly noble gesture? If people dump refuse at the sides or middle of the road indiscriminately maybe because there where no provisions or structure in place for dumping refuse, will you blame the government or the individuals in question? |

I don't see anything wrong with this. If they manage well, they won't have problems. Other state governors should emulate this once in a while. |

SLIDEwaxie:Why do you think that some folks deliberately don't request for ATM card for their bank account? Is it that they lack wisdom? Don't you know that people most times tend to work out their budget with cash at hand, and it is only few of them that don't fall into the temptation of squandering cash at hand. A psychologist might tell you better how people tend to behave at any given instance |
