Sentiments aside. She said the truth. As long as you choose to criminalize gay people, you are going to send them underground. It is the same problem the black american community are facing in America. Black Americans for the most part detest homosexuals and treat them badly. This gave birth to the down-low culture. In other words, black men who are gay and will go and date women, even marry them and then still have sex behind their backs with fellow men. Some of these black men started infecting these women with all manners of STDs/STIs.

It is common knowledge that once you criminalize people, they go into the closet. They don't stop what they are doing, they just do it in secret. There are many Nigerian men and women who are married to members of the opposite gender but continue to have intimate relationships with members of the same gender. Criminalizing homosexuals will not stop homosexuality. It will only drive it underground, that's a fact.

Two consenting adults is different to an adult and a child.

The issue here is gaining consent from the other party. For the consent to be valid, it must be deemed that both parties are equally able to make sound decisions.
A child being a child is not deemed as such, not biologically, emotionally or mentally up to that task yet.
Desire an underage person if you wish but wait till the person is old enough by law to decide if they want to reciprocate l. Anything else is taking advantage and quite rightly criminal.
Two gay adults, both deemed old enough to decide what to do with their bodies.
