kropotkin11:bro last I checked, freedom of movement applies to the Fulani man himself and not his cattle -especially, not in some one's farm. Has the Fulani man's pastoral method of cattle breeding made Nigeria a major exporter of beef like Argentina and co? why can't we ban their pastoral method for ranching? for crying out loud, the north has enormous landmass why must the encroach on the southern farmers land. |

spiralwedge:It's obvious you've lost the plot ![]() You failed to draw draw sensible parallel between Fulani herdsmen and hawkers. You failed on other points as well. Why would any sane person gloss over destroying others' assets? |

Southern Nigerians should immediately form militias... then we would tell the Fulani intruders that Southern Nigeria is not meant for savage herdsmen. |

Freedom of movements applies to humans NOT cattle (animals)! In USA, UK, and so many developed nations, you cannot just move large numbers of animals anyhow! kropotkin11: |

Honza27:yes while I accept that his continued silence is not helping matters but that in itself does not make him complicit in the whole matter. I think the issue of the herdsmen needs urgent attention and its being treated with levity, besides I want to still believe there is more to it than meet the eyes...I believe some power hungry individual/group is behind this and they would rather pull the whole country down if they don't have their wishes done...I would say Karma is a biatch. |

It is also your constitutional right to kill and destroy peoples farmland. |

kropotkin11:According to Fashola, the right to move anywhere in Nigeria does not confer on you the right to be a nuisance to others where you choose go to. In this case, they seem to think it confers on them the right to burn houses, kill and rape women Fadahunsi 2kris kropotkin11 dgr8truth ramdris kcnwaigbo DaBullIT OneManLegion papiforreal marshalcarter marshborn spartanobad Rexphobia pepigeorge Activa Orikinla otitokoroleti tammie24 oduastates ExInferis |

omenka:They have complete freedom of movement but do they have any freedom to kill and rape other people's wives and daughters and burn their houses? If it is the need for grazing of their cattle that causes them to kill people when they visit other people's territories, those people are saying that they are no longer welcome with their cattle. I think that is clearly understood. Nobody is calling for all meshai's, mayguards, etc to leave the south. We have simply correctly identified the ones that cannot be welcomed here - the cattle rearers. It is also remarkable that instead of offering any kind of apology for the crimes committed by their kind, they say nobody can stop them. If this is not some expansionist thing being deliberately done, is the natural response not "we apologise and let us work together to catch/prevent the culprits"? When there was a bomb blast in Owerri, it was the northern community themselves that came together and said they must acquire for themselves identity cards so that any strange person in their midst would be identified. About people "inflaming the whole situation" I think it is actually inflaming that you think the reaction of the public is more inflaming than the actual killing, and raping of other people's wives and daughters mindlessly, and it is these kinds of remarks that drain any kind of credibility from the position of any Fulani sympathizer even if their are areas in which they should be sympathized with. Fadahunsi 2kris kropotkin11 dgr8truth ramdris kcnwaigbo DaBullIT OneManLegion papiforreal marshalcarter marshborn spartanobad Rexphobia pepigeorge Activa Orikinla otitokoroleti tammie24 oduastates ExInferis spiralwedge |

kropotkin11:because it is their right to move around the country, it has also given them right to graze with somebody's livelihood abi? It's like the word Trespass is not in ur Dictionary.. |

TheTransformer:Freedom of movement of all persons and their property. Cattle are very valuable property. Do they have a right to trespass on the private property of others? Hell no! But you cant exclude them from going anywhere else with their cattle. That's the law man. The law dosen't care about your emotions or sentiments. It is what it is |

Ok... let me go and buy lions and leopards and move around with it and see if it still applies (after all felines are also valuable property).... as long as the squabble continues, the law would be adjusted to ban movement of cattle... the law is made for man and NOT man made for the law! Freedom of movement right... in a time of insecurity, the police (and/or army) take away your freedom of movement by imposing a curfew - another example of how the law always gets modified to suit problems on ground! kropotkin11: |

TheTransformer:You have a right to move around with your lions, tigers and hyenas and 'graze' on all the free bushmeat you wish, but if any of your 'property' should be directly responsible for harm to another human being, you will pay the price. The Fulani herdsmen on the other hand have the same property rights as you only when his cattle run on a rampage through people's farmlands, its a civil matter of monetary compensation to the victims and unlike yours a criminal one Mr Lion herdsmen . But that's not what were talking about right? We're talking about criminal herdsmen pillaging villages, burning and killing as they please and the illegal countermeasures you propose to stop them. To you banning them and their property from certain parts of the country is the solution. What you forget is their own political leaders in the north could pass an equally illegal retaliatory law restricting citizens from your own part of the country from exercising their own legitimate rights, and they don't have to give anyone a figs big deal of an explanation other than they just don't like your faces . And where do we go from there? You see why there are laws that are not meant to be subject to how you or i feel? It it written and it is very difficult to change. The herdsman cannot be excluded from any part of the country with property except through illegal, violent means with its attendant consequences. |

ALAYORMII:They are as much as property to them as the phone or computer you used to type this. Property rights are enshrined in the constitution to be upheld by the state for every citizen, regardless of how you look or smell. |

kropotkin11:Just like its ur right to own a sound system but when you use it to constitute nuisance (air pollution) to others then you've encroached on the right of other citizens. |

Buhari is to be blamed for this rubbish . He should ban cattle grazing. It is archaic to be grazing . Ranching is the way to go. There no way grazing will not cause fight bicos cattle will always tread on farmers crops |
