Me: Am going to Norwallk, Connecticut for a degree in business Administration and management
V.O. Which school
Me. Norwalk community college
V.O. Who's paying for this?
Me. My mum
V.O. What does she do?
Me. Shes a business woman, fashion designing
V.O.: why associate degree and not a bachelors degree
Me: that's the highest degree the school offers apart from other certifications
V.O. But there are other schools in the U.S that offers bachelors degree why didn't u choose from those?
Me. because I av a strong interest and passion for my choice of school, it's a nice school and my uncle over there went to the school and recommended it to me.
V.O. Are you currently working?
Me. No
V.O. When did u finish ur secondary school?
Me. 2008
V.O. What av u been doin from 2008 till now

The nxt thing she said was am sorry but u do not qualify for a bla bla bla, gave me d blue printed paper

Sorry about your delay and it will be of your own best interest if you re apply for visa with a university admission and not community college so that it can be of help to things that have changed since your last application at the embassy

But can they still ask me the questions on my previous interview, cos I don't knw if they do record down the questions and my replies... And can I say av been working or I joined my mother in her business since 2008 till date wud it complicate any issue.?

Everything was recorded for training and record purpose and am sure part of what the VO asked you and your reply will be summarise as a report after the interview

Sevis fee lasted for 365 days which is a year

Good evening all, visa was approved today at US consulate Lagos. I just wanna thank everybody that has ever commented on this thread as I always learn from what I read here. Special thanks to @slimmy2005 for helping with my sevis fee payment and @holudarey01 for always checking up and of course @cutemorgan for introducing me to this thread.
My appointment was 6:30am and I was the first person to be attended to today, here it goes.

V.O: Why are you going to the US?
Me: To pursue my doctorate degree in chemistry at Louisiana State University.
V.o: At baton rouge?
Me: Yes at baton rouge.
V.o: What other degree do you have?
Me: Bachelor's degree
V.o: In what course
Me: chemistry as well
V.o: great, did you get any kind of funding?
Me: Yes I did, graduate teaching assistantship, waives my tuition and with a generous stipend....couldnt help but smile
V.o: smiled back, thats exciting
Me: very exciting
V.o: So how did u know about Lsu?
Me: It was first recommended to me by a friend who did his graduate studies there, then I read up on the school, its chemistry program is rated top 100 in the entire country, and they have some really interesting researches going on.
V.o:* nodded* thats good, did you apply to any other schools?
Me: Yes, four other schools..
V.o: have you paid your sevis fee?
Me: yes I have
V.o: then he typed somethings for a bit, ok your student visa is approved, you cant enter the US until 30 days bfore ur program start date. Dont forget to have your I20 on your person and not in your luggage. Then something about Education Usa.

At this point, I was too happy to say anything, was just nodding. Typing it now, it seems long but it all took less than 3mins.

I am a final year medical student studying outside Nigeria. I took the GRE in February and got a score of 288. Q- 144, V- 141, AWA- 3.0. Pretty low, I know. I wasn't really prepared for the exam, I took it after 1 month of preparation with magoosh. The problem here is that I don't think I can retake the exam any time soon this year because I have alot of other exams to take such as my final medical school exams, Nigeria's medical liscening exam, Toefl, Ielts and USMLE. The rest of this year is pretty booked for me.

My plan after medical school is to go for my masters in health administration or public health, before I begin my residency in medicine. Please can anyone recommend any school that I can apply to with such GRE score? My total GPA after graduation should be around 4.8/5.0.
And also, with this stats of mine do you think I would be able to get admission?

You may need to do your own personal research, as regards schools that can take that score, but be patient and try again after Med school.
Besides what's your goal you seem to be writing everything and not concentrating your efforts, you are doing ielts (Canada I guess), USMLE (U.S residency) , naija ( h.j/residency) .
My take, you can re-write your GRE after grad maybe during internship so u don't have divided attention. But you can start your research now on schools funding etc

You really have answered the question yourself.
If you pick such an obscure subject to study you must be certain why.
VO would have expected that so many years after leaving school you would be working in that field and that uni was a progress to your career.

Applying with such little preparation was just a waste of money!

depends on the school, cgpa, SOP, LORs and your application as a whole.

guy they approved my visa at around 10:15 am. Shortest interview. About 45 seconds. Driving now. Post transcript soon.
