Yes. Visa expiration date, visa class, school name and address, and entry type are written boldly on the visa page. Check for sample on Google.

i think its better you prep with the collegeboard practice test questions and answers alongside a barron or kaplan SAT text,mind you these text materials might not tally with the current sat format and corriculum, but they are yet very rich materials....a friend told me the new sat is an overall score of 1600 as against the 2400 it use to be.you can confirm this though. you can download the practice materials( in pdf format) on collegeboard website.i hope this helps.good luck!

2. What are the likely schools I can apply for?

4. Can I work as a teaching assistant or lecturer while undertaking my PhD research?

Good evening all, visa was approved today at US consulate Lagos. I just wanna thank everybody that has ever commented on this thread as I always learn from what I read here. Special thanks to @slimmy2005 for helping with my sevis fee payment and @holudarey01 for always checking up and of course @cutemorgan for introducing me to this thread.
My appointment was 6:30am and I was the first person to be attended to today, here it goes.

V.O: Why are you going to the US?
Me: To pursue my doctorate degree in chemistry at Louisiana State University.
V.o: At baton rouge?
Me: Yes at baton rouge.
V.o: What other degree do you have?
Me: Bachelor's degree
V.o: In what course
Me: chemistry as well
V.o: great, did you get any kind of funding?
Me: Yes I did, graduate teaching assistantship, waives my tuition and with a generous stipend....couldnt help but smile
V.o: smiled back, thats exciting
Me: very exciting
V.o: So how did u know about Lsu?
Me: It was first recommended to me by a friend who did his graduate studies there, then I read up on the school, its chemistry program is rated top 100 in the entire country, and they have some really interesting researches going on.

Me: Yes, four other schools..
V.o: have you paid your sevis fee?
Me: yes I have
V.o: then he typed somethings for a bit, ok your student visa is approved, you cant enter the US until 30 days bfore ur program start date. Dont forget to have your I20 on your person and not in your luggage. Then something about Education Usa.

At this point, I was too happy to say anything, was just nodding. Typing it now, it seems long but it all took less than 3mins.

Don't rush in taking the GRE. Chk their site, you'll see the minimum score for biological sciences. Ask the grad coord if they admit people during spring cos it's already late for fall. All the best. Cheers

It is apparent that there is something wrong with your application.

I see that you have a 2.5 CGPA. Is that a Naija 2.5 out of 5.0? If it is a Naija 2.5, the schools are probably seeing toO many Ds and Es on your transcript. If it is a WES converted 2.5 CGPA, then, you are applying to the wrong schools. With this low GPA, are you expecting some sort of funding? If NO, then you should be looking at CSU Los Angeles, CSU San Bernandino any of the schools in the California State University System. I know most of the CSUs still accept applicationS for fall and MOST are flexible when it comes to CGPA.

You are suffering from twin evils of the admissions process low GPA/GRE , some schools will ignore your low GPA if you have a decent GRE scores while some will overlook your low GRE if your GPA is solid, what I am yet to see is a school that ignores both. If you must travel this FALL, write another GRE get at least >305 and refire MTU.... So sorry for the rejections, keep going bro

My interview was for may 6, 11am but my visa was approved at around 10 ish. After the rigorous process of standing in line and bio metrics, interview goes thus. The VO was a man in his early thirties... didnt even notice what number was on the window.

VO : pass me ur passport
ME : Passed everything including SEVIS receipt and i-20
VO : just your passport pls.. At this point i thought I had been too forward and was about to pay for it. every answer in my head vanished
VO : requests for i-20 and sevis then says So you are going to Touro College in Manhattan, NY
ME : Yes I am
VO : Did you apply to any other schools?
ME : yes sir, 2 other schools
VO : types for a few seconds... Your visa has been approved........... and I went deaf the rest of the time he talked

still cant comprehend how and why God favored me that much cos it is unmerited but I am grateful.
