Gully is a problem of the south as a whole and not exclusive to S/E alone.

Yes, but it is 5 times worse in the East.
Geologists have identified the SE has a Gully erosion hotspot.

In how many states do you see scenes like this

Your comment is sadly one of the numerous other reasons why one Nigeria will never work. Ideally, this project should be a win for the whole country, not for a particular ethnic group alone.

Laudable project, Ogun state has so much untapped potential.

God Bless The Yoruba Folk.

God Bless Ogun State.

God Bless Nigeria. AMEN!

Here in S/S, it's just as bad. It has to do with the chemical composition of the soil and structure. Good for farming, but sadly, not foundationally sound - prone to erosion.

But my questions are ;
1. Whose plan is this? Gov. Amosun? If yes, why did he not come up with it when he newly came to power coz he has just 2yrs to complete his tenure.

2. I live in Ogun state, the most laudable project that Amosun would have achieved would have been this Ofada road. But as at now, it is already an abandoned project.

3. Where would the money come from? Borrow? But why borrowing now and making another government to start servicing it when we all know that political continuity is a problem in this part of the world.

May God help Us.
Y can't we be patient with our leaders 4 crying out loud. Rome wasn't built in a day. Even in our personal lives, we set goals dat are long term. Didn't u see what Gbenga did 2 ogun 4 8yrs, do u want him 2 repair it over night? Dis is a good precedence he his setting 4 d next leader. Hopefully, if it's still APC, d next Gov shud continue. Afterall, Ambode is still working on some of d housing projects Fashola commenced & also on d mega city plans Lagos had. All in due time.

A duplication of Eko Atlantic concept. Before you know it the SEern states will copy it as well or in few years from now the Igbos will tell the world they built Eko Atlantic and the Mitros City. In anyway the Yoruba nation setting the pace in everything and others follows, we still remains the foundation and arrow point of civilisation in Nigeria. More flooding from the SE to Lagos Atlantic and Ogun Mitros City is highly anticipated though.

Exactly my point bro. It's funny that most people believe that Yorubas are the saboteurs in the South. But I'm afraid, they are not. These people have decided to destroy the Southern Unity with their hatred. But must they always drag the SS into it??

Leave the people of the south south out of your madness.

The tribes there have nothing against the south west.

If you people in the east hate the south west, no problem we wouldn't lose sleep over the hate. You were never consequentia to our existence and success

Stop been political about all things. Pdp ruled Ogun state for eight years under Daniel and major cities like Abeokuta were in shambles, Amousu came and transformed those cities by building roads and flyover bridges. You may be here to blackmail his governance it won't pass NL, the people living in Ogun state are singing his praises everywhere. If Amosu is borrowing money to execute the project, America is still borrowing money, let us laud a visionary leadership, in two years Amosu will finish his tenor but he won't go with the good jobs he did.

You will die of Jealousy.
As the present crop of southwesterners get richer, they will all build new houses in new neighborhoods with tiled and colored roofing, the same way their grandparents before them got rich and built those houses whose roofs have now turned brown from aging. They will maintain the older buildings in the city centres and leave them for posterity, history and inner city charm like those of venice, Inner Istanbul, Prague and Rome.

While your land will forever remain the cursed giant sticky red mud gully.
Am highly impressed.
