"With the war ended, and as a Commissioner in Rivers State, I soon found that the Rivers State for which I had fought did not end my nightmare. In the first place, oil money from Ogoni country (as well as Ijaw country) was being carted away to Lagos, leaving the Ogoni illiterate and backward. This is anti-federalism". Here is what Saro Wiwa observed with hindsight. Now you might know why most Yorubas are one Nigeria adherents, their apparent love for the Nigerian entity is not borne out of patriotism, but out of selfish desires of benefiting immensely( Lion share) from that which belongs to another. |

gidgiddy:.. Whatever it is,we must solve it together. Not when igbos ijaw hausas n yoruba have completely plundered it that they now want to abandon it |

DaBullIT:Sharing stops being sharing when it is forced. In fact forced sharing is called ROBBERY. So quit twisting the Bible. If the ND had the power to SHARE THEIR RESOURCES why then are they clamouring for its control? Dummy. |

koladebrainiac:You see your mindset? It's exactly this type of thinking pattern that fuels the agitation for separation. FYI though, the marriage expired in 2014. |

There should be a fight to finish in the Niger Delta to correct all miss representations about who owns the oil. The oil belongs to Nigeria. Not less than 1 trillion dollars has been sunk into the Niger Delta by Nigeria, She'll, Agip, Chevron etc.. For some lazy idiots to rise up and claim.other people's sweat after they have been given 13 per cent for surface rights and pollution is unfair. No other region is contending mineral rights with the FG, the oil offshore Lagos belongs to the FG. Ajaokuta people are not claiming ownership of iron ore and most importantly, Kainji Dam people are not charging special rent for the power they generated for Nigeria in 50 years. The world is very used to conflict. Nobody is awed or shocked by ND militants and to be honest with you I am not sorry for the children and women who will bear the brunt of the destruction. At the end of the day this region will change irreparably. |

Surbrown.....that was so on point, whenever I pass through some villages in the ND, I see how their ppl are suffering, both the land nd the water is contaminated, many times by bunkering activities nd when the oil producing coys compensate dem, it only stops at their leaders nd those at the grassroots keep suffering, instead of dem to ask for dr rights from their leaders they keep fighting the wrong ppl, when they break pipeline they pollute their land the more hindering both fishing nd farming, sometimes they frustrate the oil coys so much dt they leave their community, nd then the little compensation dy were getting nd maybe even employment is lost.....but it's a pity they can't still think....with all the crisis in the oil industry nd the quest to diversify the economy they think anybody would care about them bombing pipelines, this is offcos the wrongest time to use dt tactic, When Nigeria finally stops depending on Oil, I wonder what the Niger Delta will have to eat maybe they'll drink their oil like the OP said, since they like to keep shouting Our oyel our oyel..... |

ShinnBet:Erm what sweat and Labour? Did you invest in the hardware extracting the oil? Did you design the oil rigs? Exactly what do you have other than a happy coincidence? Jokers. Keep up the entitlement rentier thuggery mentality. All you're doing is making it clear that only dubious businesses should look to the nd |

surbrown:Even ogoni land is not spared in this sabotage game. That we decide to let sleeping dog lie does not mean we do not know the roles our pple played to destroy the environment in ogoniland. But say, how many communities will get the ogoni judgement in future. |
