As long as we elect a good leader with vision and prevent war lords from forcing themselves on us as leaders, Niger Delta Republic will be a great confederation and country.

I expect the first 5 to 10 years to be rough with alot of ethnic crisis over leadership just like we have in south sudan today. But in d long run it will be a great country when professionals take control of d country from war lords.

Why will u want to remove itsekiri from the union or confederation? itsekiri is in d middle. bodered by Ijaw, Urhobo and Ondo. With border controversy btw Ijaw and Itsekiri, where will u put d border of itsekiri alone country?

Please let us not start division among ourselves b4 we even start. Once we get d the Niger Delta republic, if we are not ok with the union, we can fragment later. But let start d process as one.

fr3do:

The republic should have a weak centre with autonomous states/provinces carved along ethnic boundaries.

The Igbos in Delta, Rivers and Edo will be part of an Igbo republic.

There are no igbo in niger delta republic. What we have is igbanke, ika, ikwerre, kwale, ndokwa etc. They are distinct ethnic group. Similarity with Igbo dont make them igbo. Just Itsekiri similarity with yoruba dont make them yoruba. Urhobo and isoko are similar to edo. But they are urhobo and isoko, they are not edo. Akoko edo are similar to yoruba, but we dont consider them yoruba. Ishan is similar to bini. But we dont consider them bini. They are ishan. Etsako is similar to Esan. But we see them as Etsako. kalabari and okrika are similar to Ijaw. But we consider them as okrika and kalabari not Ijaw. Let every ethnic group hold and maintain thier distinct identity. Stop unnecceassary attachment. We are discussing Niger Delta republic. In dis republic every ethnic group is considered distinct and autonomous. That is how we roll. We wont agregate ethnic group.

This is one of d way we will prevent another Nigeria with clear majority three tribes. In Niger Delta republic, there will be no strong majority. Our common language will be engilsh and pidgin english.

Like Tuale said above. The Itsekhiri is part of a united Niger Delta. You need to look at the activities of our Olu to know that, we are united we our fellow Niger Delta brothers..
In event of a break up, we will move with our brothers and see how it works. With an option for every ethnic group to opt out of the so decide...
Also Tuale, I kind of share your earlier fears about not handing power over to warlords. I believe we have been in a democratic system long enough now. Our people's eyes are already opening in regards to warlords. And we are already witnessing silent rebellion against them in the region.
So I believe we will tackle them head on when there is no longer Nigeria and resources control to blame, the only way we know how to (fight).
But in the end we will be better for it, we all want the life and amenities we see abroad. Our people are hungry for development.

You are correct about the potentials of a Niger Delta Republic (NDR). True Federalism with the states/regions controlling their resources and competing for development and advancement in a healthy manner will also be a good thing. The center (Federal Government) should mainly be for high level/national guidance and administration.

With regards to leadership tussle, this is why proper understanding and maturity must be displayed by the citizens of the Republic. As a matter of fact, politics should be made less lucrative in this republic. In my opinion, it is GREED that will make this impossible. Even if an agreement is reached on the issue of leadership, the agreement will be broken/breached by the greedy and hungry elite. This is the major fear of Nigeria splitting up. Splinter civil wars will break out and it will take years to quell. This is why politics (the position for the administration and distribution of national resources) must be made less lucrative with minimum wage paid to public office, and not an avenue to amass wealth and power.

Note, my response is without prejudice to whether I am in support or not in support of Nigeria splitting.

Niger Delta Republic or The Republic Of Niger Delta will consist of Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Cross River and Rivers. It would be the most economically viable country in West Africa and Africa at large. Each of these states are very wealthy in Crude Oil, Natural Gas, Lush Green Vegetation, Access To International Waters, Manpower and Other Natural Resources. There's no majority and there's no minority.

We can't keep letting fear of the unknown shackle us. Are you gonna stay in an abusive relationship because you don't know what the other holds?
The people of the region are starting to speak up against their warlords already. We that have fought ourselves in the past are the ones saying we can only fight this fight together.
We know what we want, and we all want the same thing and it's for our region to compete with its peers all over the world. For us to control our own destiny. We are willing to put aside our swords and guns for that.
I'm in total support of the disintegration of Nigeria. We will work out our differences together like we had for centuries before colonialism.

Well, the abusive relationship can also have things work out for good.
How are we sure the next partner will not be more abusive? Or how are we sure our brothers will not abuse us in our fathers' house?
However, I do understand your point. If I am one of the ijaw leaders, I would be drawing up plans to meet leaders within this region and have a game plan in the event that this dissolution takes place. It will not be nice to find a group of people without a plan for management of change or succession/secession plan.

Like I earlier hinted,I am only giving these as strategies because I love strategies. It has no bearing on whether I want or do not want Nigeria to disintegrate.

Forget oil and gas. It is losing its economic importance. In 5 years from now, oil will be almost useless worldwide.

It is like you aearen't aware of the 2023 prospect to flood the auto market with electric cars

These cars won't need charging stations. They can run on either solar energy or wind energy.

I have a model of how you can run a car using wind energy. The energy generated by wind will charge the battery and keep the car always working. No more petrol/gas or diesel will ever be needed.

If me an ordinary Nigerian can have such an idea, you think those Chinese, Japanese, English and Americans will not have even better ideas?

Don't place your mind on oil and gas anymore. It is a goner.

How is that any of your business how we decide to champion our destiny?
The Nigerian state gave birth to Tompolo and other due to their constant neglect of the region that feed you and your broke ass Bleep state.
As long as they continue to neglect us new Tompolos will rise. Better trained and more sophisticated, sooner or later we will either get our wish or the country goes broke. Unless your region is now able to chest the burdening of feeding the nation. If so we will gladly sit down and wait for our allocation like your lazy asses keep doing....

Lmao. Oh my God you just made my day. Did you remember we were suppose to have flying cars by 2012 or so?
Did you remember how long ago we were suppose to have cars that run on water solely?
I can go on and on. Do you even have an idea how the science of it will work?
We don't even have a battery that keep charging and not deteriorate and your talking about crazy science projections.
I will come here in 2023 and there still won't be electric cars everywhere.
Bros please tell me how the science of it will work. Your so called idea, have you been able to make a battery at all? Let alone one that can charge off wind only? Then one that can charge from wind only and power a car engine? And then one that can do all of this simultaneously....Now tell me how the science behind what you're planning, we can all have an idea of flying cars now knowing the science and making it work is a whole different ball game...
And don't give me the crap about Japanese and Chinese or Americans. They haven't figured it out yet. Tesla is still trying to increase the life of its battery range...

Your comment shows you Dont understand how wind energy works. Wind energy runs the car directly immediately it has charged the battery.

Do you know about Tesla? They have already made samples of such electric cars. They plan to increase production to 500,000 by 2018
