There is a reason why there is Solar energy. 90million naira should go a long in installing solar power, atleast they'll be guaranteed 24hr power. Penny wise pound foolish.

It's a high time our higher institutions live up to rising challenges. The engineering prof and students should see how to make alternative power supply.

Students projects should be fashioned in this way so that we can reawaken technological attributes in our youths

U are the only sensible and responsible person here,A university is suppose to add to the economy of a country not churning out graduate only,they should be able to generate their own electricity,either from coal,wind,solar or gas,what do u expect the money allocated for research will be looted,Nigeria universities and all those mofos that called themselves prof are nothing but loosers

I graduated from ABU and I can proudly say that we enjoy constant and almost uninterrupted power supply, atleast while I was a student, so I'm not surprised that the bill is this high.. so it's not "money for darkness" if you ask me

you may not understand if you have never been to the university. ABU Zaria is the largest university south of the Sahara. in fact it is like a community of its own in zaria. Also, it has its own power sub station different from zaria town and is on a special priority line from the national grid hence there is rarely a power outage.

The ugly truth is education was designed by the British to make us dumb. It was designed to make an African chemist a chemist on papaer, and African physicist a physicist on papaer. No theories, no inventions, no research papaers. Absolutely nothing to show for it.

Such a ridiculous amount...its a very big shame that our universities can't even provide power supply for them selfs and each time we kip on celebrating our first class graduates as if they graduated frm havard university.

i reside in the main campus and there is always light but I doubt if Kongo's line is connected to Main campus

The university is more like a community, it's no wonder they have a community market. .

Just yesterday, I was gisting a friend in the office about how we used to have uninterrupted power supply running for weeks while I was still a student there.

Back then in my undergraduate days, we could go a whole one month without interruption. Peeps who come to write Post-UTME often wonder of OAU is part of Nigeria because of how it enjoys light.

Don't know for now sha, but I believe no matter how bad the light situation has become in OAU, dem go still dey get light pass those of us wey dey live for Isolo.

Was really startled as to what amounts to such amount
