first of, don't intimidate me with being an old graduate,because yes, I am a fresh graduate. now back to the matter, according to the bulletin the tariff has been increased by about 15naira, this would definitely make a big difference. Also since you're an alumnus you would know that ABU is indeed a large community, it's not just the school using electricity, there is the residential area and of course Shola as well as the institute of agric, If you ask me, this could amount to the mentioned sum

The university is like a community on it's own, it's no wonder they have a community market. .

Just yesterday, I was gisting a friend in the office about how we used to have uninterrupted power supply running for weeks while I was still a student there.

Houses.Non is up to 200,they are mostly 190. There are stil other quarters like area 1,2,3 with 100 houses for security and cleaners.other schools like DAC, NAELS, NAPRI, SBRS, IAR, Energy research etc And all I mention are in the main campus, not kongo campus

Our universities is just a big shame. No research, No invention and No innovation. All we do is garbage in and garbage out. I wonder how Nigeria will grow with this kind of paralytic system of education.

I see no reason why a university community can't generate their own power plant or find an alternative source of power. If the school pay such amount to NEPA, I will know all the Engineering and science prof are Block heads.

There are some big churches in Nigeria nowadays that don't depend on Nepa souce of light but the have stable power for good 24hrs.

Our universities is a failed system.

We need to ensure the VC is not racketing home some funds, N90m is huge but could be justified if we consider Congo, Samaru, Teaching hospital & Agric, we could see how big the school is, bigger than Ikeja in land mass. The population of both student & staffs are also much.

OAU also enjoys uninterrupted power. supply provided there is fault from Osogbo plant . but believe me my two years on campus I Can count the number of times I cooked with stove!

Department of Chemical Engineering gets its electricity from solar power (as at 2010 while I was still there though). The school management should toe the same line. They have a dam, can use solar and even wind. Heck they should be generating electricity for the whole of Zaria.

one thing you people seem not understand is that these bill of N90 million is not much, compare to what Ahmadu Bello University(ABU) is consuming, am saying this simply cos i stays in ZARIA, Do you know that this University always have power supply 247?,hardly ABU power is taken, even when all Zaria metropolis power is taken, if u go to ABU YOU WILL surely see electric power there!
