Why do they need Japan when the world's greediest political bandit, Jagabandit Bola Tinubu, can single-handedly cough out $1 Billion for that? |

Shoobineh:Ojokoro is not in mainland. Lagos is divided into Island, Mainland, Overland and Upland. I think Ojokoro is in Overland, Odogunyan in Ikorodu is in Upland. |

Nairadays:Bro....very good question.... but think about an answer to your question first before declaring great news and development. They are investing $1B.... what are they getting in return? Is it a loan?...if yes what are the conditions and would Lagos really be able to repay without taxing Lagosians to death? If not a loan... do you really believe the Japanese are that charitable? They have their eyes on making the two islands the Dubai of Africa..... a place where Lagosians and Nigerians as a whole can brag about but cannot live or would be a minority there. This project would not be in the interest or for the benefit of Lagosians...so why connect to the mainland? |

It's a great initiative, but can't we have a monorail to connect mainland to the island rather than fourth mainland bridge. Govt should reduce the numbers of cars on the road by creating alternative means of transportation. |

rusher14:Bros,mmsen: Why are you talking to the SS when it's the North that has been on a killing spree for at least the past 50 years?SS is my catchment and you can not love my home more than me. The biggest mistake people make is to live in denial. That is why they do not see what you see. I once went to my village (Oba-Ile) in Osun state and I was concerned. I told my folks that they do not have enough commerce in Oba, something that is traceable to frequent squirmishes with neighbouring Oba-Oke......even the village market then had virtually disappeared..... There is nothing more prospering than peaceful and enabling environment |

Man2utd:The mainland is too much of an eyesore for any serious foreign investment. Part of attracting investment entails marketing and PR and as things currently stands very few people would look at the mainland, as a whole (not Ikeja) and wish to put their money there. Besides that, Lagos is in desperate need for more bridges. Not just a fourth mainland bridge but a 5th, 6th and 7th. A city of 20 million that only has 3 bridges between mainland and Island is going to experience serious gridlock. |

| Re: Japan To Invest $1bn In Lagos Monorail Project.. by Man2utd(m): 3:52pm On May 10, 2016 |
mmsen:What ever happened at the mainland is as a result of the government not giving it attention, and I still think bridges are not the solution but an alternative source of transportation, besides the whole world is trying to cut carbon emission. |
| Re: Japan To Invest $1bn In Lagos Monorail Project.. by mmsen: 4:14pm On May 10, 2016 |
Man2utd:What alternate method of transport doesn't require bridges besides ferries and cable cars? Trains require bridges as do zero emission vehicles. Aside from walking (which also requires bridges) and cycling (same again). |

free2ryhme:Investments creates growth, money and jobs, this is what drives credible and great economies. $1 billion investment means progress, advancements, jobs and increased IGR for a state that's already collecting 4 months IGRs that's more than your state's entire yearly budget. The curse really are shallow, ignorant, uneducated and unexposed Nigerians. |

Nairadays:1. This is a separate and stand alone project that connects the Marina to VI. 2. This project is entirely different from the ongoing metro rail which already connects Lagos Island to Lagos Mainland. |

micktoxin:Old news. In September 2011, LAMATA announced that it would acquire some H5-series subway trains formerly used by the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC). The cars are being refurbished in the United States and converted to standard gauge before being imported and put into service on the Blue and Red lines. The same contract also included an option for some H6-series subway cars from the TTC, however this has since been cancelled. The trains were built as two-unit married pairs with a driver's cab in the front right corner of each car.https://i.imgur.com/zNuvoKs.jpg https://i.imgur.com/hPfRJxn.jpg They already ordered new and better trains from China... Keep up with current affairs and Lagos state. |

Grundig:1. The Lagos Metro Rail to ease traffic congestion is on the Mainland and the 10 lane expressway with BRT and Metro access is on the mainland 2. If you really are tired of driving, these transportation investments was designed to solve that problem, to get thousands of cars of the road, to make life easy for you, stop ease fumes and pollution including noise pollution and so many other benefits.. 3. Nearly all the projects commissioned by the Lagos state government are on the mainland.. |
| Re: Japan To Invest $1bn In Lagos Monorail Project.. by arresa(op): 5:01pm On May 10, 2016 |
push23:1. There is nothing like Metro rail in Enugu and there wont be anything like it in that region many decades to come. 2. In IGR earnings, Lagos state collected over N100 billion in less than 4 months while Enugu's entire budget for 2016 is N85.1 billion and they still collected salary bail out from the FG. 3. Lagos state is not just building a metro rail, they are building a 10 lane freeway with BRT and we know calabar and rivers built 1-3 miles of rail and last I checked, they didn't build tens of miles of metro rtail system or built metro bridge or anything over the Lagos lagoon. I know many of you have to hate, show your anger and bitterness over other people's progress, the same progress that you lack because of your hatred, intolerance and anger for your fellow countrymen, but try make basic sense and get some education regarding what your are criticizing and crying over. |

I wish wike can start seeing the monorail project Amaechi initiated as a rivers project and not Amaechi monorail. Wike should borrow a cue from Ambode. govt is a continuum. |

arresa:Bruh, don't be disingenous. Atleast, not with me. The 10lane express road is on the badagry axis. That's hardly mainladn. Who refers to that side of town as mainland? My brother, as for the other projects you listed abeg, can you plase point me inthe Direction of where these projects are going on?? |
