comos:
Some youths suspected to be political thugs, on Wednesday set ablaze the residence of Sen. Kabiru Gaya, in Gaya Local Government area of Kano State. The youths also set ablaze the campaign office and poultry farm of the House of Representatives member from the area, Alhaji Abdullahi Mahmoud. An eye witness told newsmen in Kano that the incident occurred around 11 am on Wednesday.

According to the witness, the youths were protesting the alleged failure of the two politicians to fulfil the promises they made to them during the electioneering campaigns in 2015. It was gathered that security agents had initially dispersed the protesting youths, who later regrouped and burnt the senator’s house before heading to the campaign office and poultry farm of the House of Representatives member. NAN gathered that the hoodlums had also attempted to burn the residence of the Chairman, Gaya local government but were over powered by the security personnel deployed to quell the violence.

When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of Kano State Police Command, DSP Magaji Majiya confirmed the incident. He said that the police in the area were still trying to contain the situation. “Our men in Gaya are still trying to bring the situation under control but as soon as we get details of the incident, we will keep you posted”, he said.

See how they wasted farm produce that would have been beneficial to hungry Osun state workers.

You are right but the youths must have acted under influence. Its not even up to 1 out of 4 years they have to fulfill their promise.

Meanwhile some VERY intelligent youths down south are protecting there own politicians that suck them dry... Want to know why we have better roads in Kaduna and Kano than Oyo and Delta? Want to know why 80% of states up north don't owe their workers, while 80% of their southern counterparts does... Here lies the answer.

They should compile the names of all the youths that took part in this act. Afterwhich they should individually be conferred with national awards. Their leaders are to receive OON while everyother person gets MON. They have done that which many people have sought to do but failed.

I totally agree with the notion of going after all this so call leaders and burn down their houses and let them feel the pitch. If only my fellow IPOB youths will emulate the northern youths, there will be change in no time. Contracts will no longer be abandoned and yet we cry foul.Who is deceiving who.

Misplaced priorities. I blame the legislators that go around making electioneering promises. The only promise the should be making is the bill the will sponsor in the house not the roads they won't build because it is not their call.

There is need for us to thread slowly here:
1. Violence of high degree is being condoned, are there no other ways of holding people to their words other than destroying properties and livelihood of people working in the poultry.

2. People are now hungry due to the economic situation of the country and this hostility to rich men around them.

3. Some of this politicians will stop coming home and continue their abujalistic lives.

4. It may be a turn around for the politicians to start committing themselves to the promises made during the electioneering period
