Buhari played Nigerians a game called Visual in bet9ja aka Ogbungwangwa!!!!!!!!
"Oh Jonathan praise singers Oh sing another song!
Stop telling LIES that he wanted to remove subsidy.
He did remove it, we screamed and he "reduced" the removal and PMS was then increased from N65/ltr to 97/ltr.
Let's all remember that at that same time kerosine was "subsidised" for N700m DAILY for us to get it at N50/ltr how many of you bought it for that amount? Alas! It was sold for N120 - N300/ltr
Back to PMS...I challenge GEJ town criers to tell Nigerians what Jonathan spent the surplus of N32/ltr to do for us.
They should tell us how our lives substantially improved out of the trillions of Naira surplus that was made from a BRUTAL surplus of N32/ltr.
Name the palliatives, show me anywhere in Nigeria you can drive for 105km UNINTERRUPTED with bad spots.
Tell me how many Megawatts of electricity the trillions of Naira added.
Tell us how many kilometres of standard Guage railway line was built" - Anonymous

Buhari clearly stated during the campaign that he will reduce fuel price, Baba has failed us. There is no justification whatsoever in increasing the price of fuel, its the height of insensitivity on the plight and sufferings of the people.

No right thinking activist that has the masses at heart will support this degree of hardship. Its so unfortunate. Truth remains that we will have this to deal with till the year Dangote will commission his refinery in Nigeria. As for Kaduna, Warri, and PHC refineries, their stories will remain the same becos they are old & inefficient. As for Tam-West that did some faulty analysis and promised that fuel would be sold at N40, he was just a tool to achieve victory. What I long to know is:-
From which continent do marketers import the fuel they supply Nigerians that it costs about N106/litre to bring to the shores of Nigeria before adding other costs knowing fully well that the price of crude still hovers way below $50/barrel?
I love sensible comments like this. How did they arrive @ such an outrageous price wen world price of oil has actually crashed.

It is all money making scam.
GEJ discovered it soon enough and wanted to eliminate it altogether.
Arresting & prosecuting the scammers, who mostly are from the big tribes, would have been disastrous to GEJ politically. So just end subsidy.

But the self-acclaimed owners of Nigeria did not want it.

What GEJ wanted to do 4 years back and was called clueless, is what GMB is doing now & he's hailed the Messiah.

Honestly, some Nigerians deserve the misery they are in.

Thanks for your observation. For us to look at present and how it will influence the future, we have to look at one fundamental parameter which is the current price of oil per barrel. What ever resistance to subsidy removal given by us in the past is as a result of the prevailing oil price at that time which is about $130 per barrel. Today a barrel of crude goes for less than $40. On the basis of this, no objective mind will fault the removal of subsidy. The FG are not going to use Nigeria's' population as legal tender for buying petrol.

GENERAL NOTICE
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We regret to inform the general public that His Royal Madness, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, The APC and His Royal craftiness Lai Mohammed will be unable to fund/sponsor nor participate in the currently suggested #OccupyLagos or #OccupyNigeria protests this year.

This is because we are convinced that with the current government in place, Nigeria is already deemed "occupied" and reoccupying may lead to overloading which is not good for the Nigerian economy at the moment considering that we are yet to receive delivery of our "dividends" of democracy from this new and vibrant administration.

Also we wish to warn Nigerians, wailing wailers and miscreants alike that Ojota is currently unavailable at the moment, as His Excellency, the Governor of Lagos State, Governor Ambode is currently working tirelessly to keep Lagos state (particularly the Ojota axis) clean and odour free.

The general consensus is to prepare ourselves as a nation for more important activities like repairing and rebuilding the economy, generating employment through the Rebranding and Repackaging of our Southern-eastern Masquerade, ensuring the security of Fulani herdsmen and livestock as well as ensuring a free and fair election in 2019 - exactly like the one Jega gave us in 2015 with the same result.

Also the Save Nigeria group, SNG, also regrets to inform the General public that it wont be involving/sponsoring nor participating in any activity remotely linked to the current increase in the pump price of petrol - which it believes is due to the recent decision of the Buhari administration to remove subsidy as well as looting of successive administration (actually only the Jonathan Administration).

This decision was reached because the SNG is convinced that Nigeria does not require saving at the moment, as the only approved and authorized saviour as recommended by our Chairman and National convener - asides from the Lord Jesus - is General Muhammadu Buhari who is currently "#Occupying" the Presidency and calls to #OccupyLagos or #OccupyNigeria or occupy ojota or anywhere on Nigerian soil will lead to further anarchy which my distort or pad Mr president's body language - a very undesirable outcome, if you know what I mean.

We will also like to re-appreciate people and interest groups like His Excellency, the Governor of Kaduna state, governor El-rufai; Kwam 1, Fela Durotaye, Pa Ikhide, the NLC, NANS, ASUU, Civil society groups and other individuals and groups who lent their immense support to the last #OccupyNigeria protest of 2012.

We wish to assure you all that as soon as an #OccupyNigeria Protest is necessary or appropriate, we will notify you promptly.

Thanks for your cooperation. It was nice doing business with you.

Signed

JAGABAN

I respect Falana a lot. But unfortunately, he is wrong here. I think it is very hard for most people to comprehend what it means to be a broke country. Remember, even Saudi that made much better use of their resources are trouble so deep that they have taken their national assets on to the stock market.

The painful truth is subsidy does not make sense with an empty treasury.

Subsidies are actually a good gesture, governments naturally subsidize the populace in one form or the other, but for the bastardization of the good gesture and the 'no money' situation, we all basically agree subsidy must go, but at the right time: when we no longer depend on imported fuel, or have greatly reduced our dependence on imported fuel.

That said, on the overall, after almost a year in power, I'm not going to make excuses for Buhari's government's inability to tackle pipeline and oil installations vandalism, and cross-border smuggling, nor am I going to make excuses for its inability to have the old refineries working or modular refineries chipping in their bits. The APC won the election in March 2015, enough time for preparations.

As it is now, what we have is a cosmetic solution to a fundamental problem: if we do not get refineries (old and new) doing their thing, should oil prices sell for around $70/barrel, or the Naira continues to free fall, then pump prices will go north, or reversal to paying subsidies.

Our only 'get-away' is to find a way to make the Naira stronger, and drastically eliminate importation of refined fuel.

And there is no way to avoid wage increment (N18,000 would be technically worth less than $40). . . which further aggravates inflation . . . at 12.8% inflation (higher in reality), it is already a travesty . . . I see over 15% inflation = anarchy!

unfortunately, you are spot on. rough times indeed. and they will get rougher. That first 3 or 4 months Buhari took to get his ministers in place looks like gold now - in hindsight that was precious time he could have used to head off the oil price freefall.

wage increment is indeed a good idea for this administration, at least to get the dogs off the back politically. But everyone knows the inflation wolves will devour that increment in no time.

What do PDP and its allies actually want? I guess they want Buhari out of office at all cost, even if it means destroying the country including themselves in the process.
Buhari tries to avoid devaluation and pegs the naira at 197 for critical imports like fuel and medicine, the scream deregulate and devalue.

Buhari says, OK, oil marketers should source their dollars themselves and sell at a price of N145 because of the high cost of dollars in the open market, they shout, no buhari must sell petrol at the regulated naira price of N197.

When there is no petrol because marketers cannot import petrol at N320 to the dollar and sell at N84.5 for a litre, the protest, Buhari is a dullard because he cannot provide us petrol.

Now, how is buhari going to source for petrol, when;
The present 4 refineries cannot meet up to 30% of our daily needs, that if they are working to full capacity. ( we know all the refineries are down at the moment )

It will take at leat 2 years to build new refineries, that is if the government starts now, but we know refineries are not in this years budget.

The government does not have enough dollars to import all the petrol we require or to sell to independent marketers. That is why the government told them to source dollars themselves

Falana should explain how the government can source petrol at the cost of N84.5 without burning out megre foreign reserves and spending over 1 trillion naira on subsidies, money we do not have at the moment.
