You leeches suddenly started caring for Niger Deltans .. they are telling you leeches to leave their oil for them, is that too difficult to understand?.. manny4life:No one makes up the economy. Nigeria economy is made up of all the sectors in its system, of which oil and gas is just a sector. Unfortunately over concentration on this sector which I see is as a result of the laziness of our government. What makes Nigeria permeates on the diverse nature of the country, in terms of culture, religion, language and social strata. Economically you might say what makes up Nigeria is the Niger Delta oil. But prior to the Oil boom witnessed in the 70s the Nigeria economy was run on agricultural exports, mainly cocoa. Every part of the nation benefited from the funds gotten from it without a particular region holding the nation to ransom ECONOMICALLY. of course we all know where cocoa is mainly from. Even the three R program carried out by gowon after the civil war was funded from agricultural income. This program we know was to rebuild the East. And where is the imbalance of distribution of wealth, whose fault is that? The Niger Delta has a ministry, get 13% derivation income from oil sold. The people you should hold responsible if there's any form of imbalance is your state and local leaders. While the Hausas are stoning and burning the house of their corrupt leaders. We in the south are hailing them and helping them run away. |

tempest01:Why would few individuals just own oil blocs in a nation of over 175million people? And 85% of these individuals are not from SS. its quite painful. The avengers are fighting a just cause. I just think the approach is what is not good. Do you even blame them? They don't believe that they can get justice if they go to the GOVERNMENT CONTROLLED COURTS. |

A Belgian friend once told me African leaders lack the capacity to solve problems though i never accepted that comment from him but deep down in me i know it was the truth. What is so difficult in calling a real national conference devoid of politics where we will all seat down and talk about this country? For how long are we going to keep enduring from one problem to another? yestersday, it was NDVF, MOSSOP, MASSOB etc, today it is NDA, what is it going to be tomorrow? Why can't we seat down and agree we want to be together as a nation and work out a constitution where all components of these country will agree to? If we can't be together, when can't we disintegrate? How many people are in Luxembourg? are they not one of the richest people in the world living happily? Is it better to have a big giant good for nothing country where citizens queue up at European and American embassy as early as 4am to beg for visa than having a small prosperous country? If the UK that created this country, a world power, permanent member of the UN security council, Nuclear armed nation can even brace up for the idea of a total break up despite Scotland being autonomous, why must it be difficult for Nigeria to break if it is what it takes to have peace? I am not advocating for a break up but anybody who loves Nigeria should push for a structural reformation of this country. This country is long overdue for people to renegotiate her existence instead of spilling too much blood. if every region has to be autonomous or a total breakup, then no problem. But does an African and her leaders have the capacity to solve any problem? |

My heart bleeds when I read what the youths post here. Anyway, I don't blame them because they don't have any mouth to feed, no school fees and house rents to pay. When they need money they ask and it will be given to them. But the irony is they don't know how hard there parents struggle to get the money and how with all these destruction, the harder it will become. It is really sad that a kid of 17 to 19 years don't know the economic impications the sabotage currently going on will bring to his family. I saw what my 17 year old son posted here. His only reason is that Jonathan lost election. Jonathan he has never seen in his life. The billions shared one penny did not come to his family. Well, the time for school fees is fast approaching. Maybe Jonathan will pay it this time with what is currently going on in the country which he is praising, where will he expect me to get the money for the school fees. |

airsaylongcon:So because TonyeBarcanista stands for the truth without partisanship, you resort to hauling invectives at his personage? Smh! Well, this is what youths of nowadays have become : wanton political zombies! My good TonyeBarcanista, keep standing for the truth! Nigeria's problem has nothing to do with APC or PDP! We are our own problem and until we realise that, NOTHING CAN CHANGE! |

kumakunta:When other states are collecting 2 billion ND state are collecting 9/10/12 billion allocation with noting to show, they still blame the government instead of their governor who is from them. NDDC is another ministry just to please them. In the next 1 years let see who will suffer the consequences most. |

sonnie10:What I'm getting at is that the fact that we sell oil at all is due to the efforts of may people, most of whom are not from the Niger Delta. It takes businessmen, diplomats, presidents, technocrats, etc. to see value in the resource called oil. We're only relying on the lucky fact that the substance exists under a ground we were lucky to have migrated to long ago, ignoring all the other factors that come into place. Why don't we have powerful Delta men and women in business, in office, in industries, that will bring added value to this raw material? And when we do have powerful men and women, they tend to sell us out, protecting only their selfish interests. I'm saying that, instead of destroying federal property and harming the entire nation, these avengers should perhaps go and picket their representatives and governors. |

maupe:I don't know if the people advising our president are not knowledgeable enough or that our dear President doesn't take an advice. The issue of Niger Delta can never be solved with force and that's what our President failed to understand. How can U vow to crush them when U are fully aware that our security apparatus can not effectively guard the pipeline routes? If Mr President refuse to accept the reality on ground by reaching out to those guys in a bid to know their grievances, am sorry but its going to be a long walk for our dear. |

ken4jj:Our problem is not break-up, we lack good leadership. Every tribe is been marginalized, employment is in every tribes. If we can develop other sectors of our economy we are going to be great. Saudi is not better than China or Germany, we lack good leadership to move Nigeria forward. Abeokuta steel is there, we have land for agriculture and many other mineral resources. Dubai invest Oil money, look at them today. |

nextstep:Which Delta man add value to which crude? The crude that has shared to Northerns. Only when a Delta man owns or have direct interest in crude would he think of adding value to it. Remember, very action one takes is based on motivation. Be honest to yourself, if your employer says to come work for free, would go to work tomorrow? |

Deen77:Then let's sit down and iron out these differences, agree and draft a constitution based on it so that no body will cry of marginalization. We lack good leadership because we keep using the same system year in year out despite seeing it is not working and yet no will to change. |
