Fuel Price: NLC To Begin Strike Wednesday by MaQuin(f): 9:38pm On May 13, 2016
BEARING any last minute alteration, organised labour and its civil society allies have resolved to shut down Nigeria from Wednesday, May 18, over the hike in the pump price of petrol announced by the federal government last Wednesday.

Recall the Federal Government on Wednesday announced a new regime of price that took the pump price of petrol to N145 per liter from N86.50.

Vanguard gathered that labour leaders will not later than Sunday send a letter to government demanding a total reversal to the N86.50 pump price of petrol before 12 am on Wednesday, falling which all economic and others would be shut from Wednesday.

Rubbish. They will only raise our hopes, cause us to starve and then collect egunje, and put the price at 110naira. After which they will demand an applause. But as long as it troubles this APc govt, then carry on

There is nothing like #occupyNigeria#. It is general Strike - said NLC. But this is just a mere gra-gra, no joke of the season.

Before that slated wednesday, there would have been penetration from all angles. Watchout, Strike will never hold - quote me

The Leadership of divided NLC and thier counterpart in the TUC must be told in clear terms that Nigerians have lost faith in them, particularly when TURNCOAT COMRADE OSHIOMOLE and his party orchestrated crisis and division amongst the organs of NLC while positioning to be named Minister of Labour. The TUC that Nigerians would gladly follow has lost steam because of its relationship with Governor Oshiomole. There is no hope for Nigerians except WE FIGHT FOR OURSELVES, NOBODY WILL FIGHT FOR US NOT NLC or TUC.

Unions want their own share, then in the end its 120 with full partial subsidy that will be more than what was there when it was 86.50

How will Nigeria develop like this?

NLC and their sister TUC should go and sit their ugly a s s down. They have long lost the little relevance they have. These lazy brats can only bark and I am very sure cannot move Buhari and Nigerians with their silly protest. They should come up with a better idea on how to deal with government rather than this not-working barbaric strike that have done nothing good to both sides since time inception.

This proposed strike will make things harder more for Nigerians. They should rather protest for increment in their salary and immediate payment of backlogs from the federal and state service since prices of goods and services move toward North since Subsidy has been removed. This would make sense and lot of people will benefit from it. It would be a win-win for the people and the Union. The small marketers will sell their good normaly and make profit to survive the harsh time. The Taxi Driver, lil gal selling pure-water, Igbo man selling electornics and the Hausa mai-tea will benefit from this option. Protest and grounding of the economy will make the poor face more with nothing to gain on the long run. NLC and TUC should wise up. Strike wont work and will not be supported by well meaning Nigerians.
