The federal government should have consulted with the NLC before removing the oil subsidy and fixing PMS pump price at a minimum of #145 a liter. But gbam, just like that, they told us the subsidy has been removed and pump price #145. NLC threatens to embark on a nationwide strike, that's when FG remembers that NLC is existing and calls them for negotiation. At the table of the so- called negotiation, the FG went behind NLC to get a court injunction forbidding NLC to embark on strike. What a joke. How can you say you want to negotiate with Labour and at same time serve them a court order? Shouldn't going to court be the last option assuming the negotiation failed? This government is a joke, a government that is insensitive to the plights of the masses. And as if that is not enough, the same FG threatens workers with "NO WORK, NO PAY" as if we are running a military system of government. |

While others are striking on the street, others are striking in bed. When Nigerian workers don't work, they fork. |

emmachukwu99:Bro Sebi strike is supposed to be the last resort ? Why would letter already fix a date for indefinite strike to commence b4 even entering into negotiations? Omo bro nigerian workers (especially public sector) are very lazy. Can never forget how ASUU strike fvcked me up...@ the end of the day the lectures got their salaries increased. Till today the students have gained nothing... except increased school fees. |

God divided this country into 6 Geo political zones . I wonder why we are not eager to be addressed as a United States of Nigeria. The people are more confused than before. Personally, when i reviewed the multiplier effect of the subsidy in Nigeria year 2012, I was on the opinion that subsidy should be scrapped . But the people that sabotage this nation said no, why must we keep on enriching the 1st class citizen of this country. Presently ,the issue of fuel subsidy still boiled down to the same removal that so many including those people presently in government condemned. Which way Nigeria, whatever the case may be, i just pray for Nigeria, people are suffering on daily basis, i receive not less than 15 Cv's on daily basis. This suffering is real and the government need to work harder to improve the welfare of the masses. |

FOLYKAZE:Adaba FM is owned by Tinubu and is a well-known propaganda outlet of the APC. I can bet my last cent that those "people calling" are the the employees of that station. Tap me when you hear anyone calling in on an Orange FM program to support this heartless anti-people government. |

Fmartin:Mirage... Stop dreaming in your dream. Even presently, not all states pay minimum wage of N18000 and they still owe. |

Fmartin:Statements like this is unnecessary as you and others who keep saying it and those liking it are just beginning hypocritical. -The NLC were the first to make a demand for increased minimum wage. It was not the FG, and the demand was not based on petrol price hike. - many of you who keep saying this, where first to attack the NLC claiming that 18k minimum wage was not being paid by most states. I recall the guys at Channels TV where latching on to this when they engaged labour. - The FG proposal for increased minimum wage is insincere as the FG have consistently said, they don't have money. So how will they be able to implement the wage increase. - Minimum wage Increase is not what the FG does in isolation as the state governors will have to determine that. Most times the FG give increased allocation to enable states pay, if they want the Idea to scale through. That have not been done. And the governors are not ready for wage increase for now. -The fact is, the increase in minimum wage proposal by the FG is a lie. They don't intend to do such. Besides, that is even a more difficult course to fight for than reduction in petrol price. -let's not be hypocritical about it. We can support the petrol price hike without this kind of blackmail. -lastly, NLC should not be rubbished because of our support for buhari. We can reason with them and let things be. The danger about this is that, Buhari will not be there forever. These structures are not easy to build. Tomorrow when a different person is in charge. We will be calling for the unions to at least speak, and there will be no voice. It's like the years before the birth Jesus christ, the prophets were being killed and thereafter came the dark years. No prophets until John. My point is that this style of absoluteness, because of buhari is dangerous. Even if petrol price must increase, let's be discreet in our actions. Peace! |

lovedatruth:Buhari did the wrong thing by making similar mistake GEJ. The mistake is not carrying out enough publicity and providing palliative to cushion the effect of the policy. Probably some you aren't aware that things has increased by 100% in the market. |

NLC has disgraced themselves. Like the boy who cried wolf too many times. Their history of in seriousness and corruption has finally destroyed them. It has turned them to banner carrying miscreants. They sat out of the last protests, and still subsidy was partially removed. Because they were settled they didn't say pim. I suspect the protest is because there is no business as usual. That being said, I think the FG should have removed subsidy in phases, while providing necessary transportation to citizens. Leasing buses from say innoson will create jobs and reduce prices on goods. At least full implementation of subsidy removal should not have been done without us at least having some improvement in agriculture and train transportation sector to balance the adverse effects of an increase in oil prices |
