Workers in Abuja defiled the nation wide strike as virtually all civil servants at all levels reported to their respective offices against the directive of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC).

Normal activities are in going in all government offices in the federal capital, Vanguard went to town to some agencies of the government and observed that 95 percent of government and private institutions workers opened for work and business.

Investigations carried by Vanguard revealed that both civil servants and private workers followed the Trade Union Congress order blaming the defilement of NLC’s order on the divisions in the NLC which they alleged, weakened the entire body.

Details shortly..

I still don't understand why people will protest against the deregulation of the oil downstream sector. That labour man that called for this strike action is not very smart and deserve some serious flogging. Like this is the best way to totally eradicate fuel scarcity and bring about a healthy competition among the major marketers which the masses will be the beneficiaries. If I had my way and can give the President an advice; believe you me, I will advice him to totally deregulate the NNPC or rather privatise it.
