Note that your naira debit/credit card no longer working abroad for foreign currency also for international purchase on web . Your card is as good as useless now in abroad .
I hope this things get better soon in Nigeria .

@ coolsix All commercial banks are under the directives from the central banks. My bank updated me earlier that does not says your bank will not join also.. just wait i have 4 accounts including uba and uba did not send any official mail to inform me but i chatted with them today and the lady told me same thing .. just wait till it is spread.
this information is for those in Diaspora that base mostly on the naira card for withdrawal.

Then, you will need someone abroad to help you make payments. That seem to be the only option now.

Lol

That is the mistake you guys are making. CBN DID NOT GIVE ANY DIRECTIVE THAT SAYS BANKS SHOULD RESTRICT CUSTOMER CARDS! The banks are acting on their own discretion or their own forex issues not CBN. My own bank sent me a mail just a few days ago(about 3 days) telling me that my monthly spending limit for USD on my naira card has INCREASED! If the bank has plan to join this restriction, i doubt that it would have sent its customers that email.

P.s i just finished with my bank phone customer care and they said they do not have plans to restrict! smiley

The cbn policies is hurting the banks and the customers at the end.

But buhari doesn't seem to care. According to him, he says "tough luck"

Seriously? Where is the forex? Stone qua? smiley

The choice is between giving Manufacturers for raw materials & machineries which will save jobs or our individual & personal uses.

I believe CBN chose the option that will benefit the economy more.

But technically, if I want to spend dollar abroad and don't care about the exchange rate, shouldn't I be able to do so?

Exactly I got the same message from GT but some people are trying to make us believe all banks stopped the use of Naira debit cards outta the country. But GTB's exchange rate can give someone heart attack... Whenever I am using my GTB card I don't go to the Machine with my phone cuz that email alert alone go turn person to mathematician
