Traders Protest In Onitsha Over "Taxation' By Governor Obiano(photos) by henryanna36(op): 8:36am On May 20, 2016

Governor of Anambra state, Willie Obiano has come under severe criticism by residents of the commercial hub of the state, Onitsha.

Traders and residents staged a protest in the city of Onitsha against what they termed 'over taxation' by Obiano's administration.The protesters asked Gov. governor Obiano to step down or be impeached.They also accused him of "killing and milking them of their daily struggle".

Anambra state is one of the few states that are considered financially viable as it does not depend on 'bail-out' from the federal government to pay workers' salaries even at a time when not less than 26 out of the 36 states are struggling with multiple months of unpaid salaries.

It doesn't matter. Must they protest every policy, are they not seeing the good work he's doing with the money? Obiano is the best governor at the present and the people should be ready to support him. Ekiti people will be glad to exchange Obianno for Fayose even if he will tax them of their last penny.

Yeah I understand you sir. From the tune of their placards I believe they are with him but are sort of begging him to mellow a bit as the economic outlook is damn hard now.

Thank God you wrote Biafrans not Igbos. Taxation is one thing very alien to Igbo culture with exception of parts of Anioma that once came under Benin influence. Trying to over tax Igbos can bring down your Government.

but here in osun we made a refrigerator repairer a whole governor and he is patching osun like a refridgerator

even a whole lagos has drug baron as their elder statesman and godfather

my brother our condition here in west is more critical
