While I admire her courage, I think she's not smart.. a computer science student with brains doesn't need to look for Jobs because that field is one field where there are so many opportunities for self employment.

I can give people jobs . I sell stuffs and I need people to help me sell them for a fee per month . Simply sell a particular number and I pay you.

imaging a graduate in computer science can't even understand it when am trying to upgrade a BlackBerry even after mor than 5 times of tutorials... And she always speak of working for one big Telecom company... Note.. I never for once attend a lecture for computer!..

She needs dat job so she could use the money to enrol for IT trainings like ccna, programming sql, Web design, mcse, java. Etc. All these things cost money to learn.. So what did she learn in school then?..... .....I studied English in school.... but I'm a web designer/programmer and I didn't learn it from any institution.. I didn't pay anybody a dime... I knew what I wanted, I got my resources online....I was doing fine (..and still doing fine) ,till I got a Job with an IT company as the IT manager, not because of my Certificate (……which I don't even have Lol) ..but because of what I taught myself.... and till now, I still do my web designing on the side for extra income.

All I see is a beautiful girl...

This same girl would have most likely been coming back from her church, where the pastor has told her to go and posses your posessions

My life has always been a blessing, immediately I finished service , the following month, I got a good job with my state govt..... but I keep on telling people, with the level of determination in me, learnability and strive, I just cannot see myself going poor, even if I didn't attend tertiary education..... I go learn work... even with my current professional skills , I still tends towards learning things way off my profession and searching better living....

Paid jobs can never make you rich , your hands and mind will..... I'm determined to be rich....

Oga, it's not always as easy as you people say it, you may have a laptop, and money for steady subscription, she may not have. Whatever is worth doing at all is worth doing well, she cannot start taking up jobs on trial and error.
I had to look for a job and raise little cash before I could start anything for myself. That's how it works.

.. Certificate dis days is overated... dats the Sad truth. The bottom line is what can you offer beyond the Certificate.. In my opinion i think getting a valuable skill is the best deal.

"The motive was just food" I started working as an apprentice just to raise fund for a laptop..men it was hell cos insults from family even the younger ones and your boss erh... But I still made it and now bro I am among the main guys in my area... So its all boil down to how you think.. The problem is that the graduates just want already made job

I can see that this lady is being misjudged by many here on Nairaland. Some people even claim how they learn one or two things on there own and how the lady in question is lazy and did not think out of the box. You may say all you want but if you need to understand the reality of our society that some people do not have the kind of orientation, opportunity, mentorship or financial strength you have, then you will appreciate the lady's situation. you have to subscribe to be able to download or watch some tutorial on YouTube, others can not boast of two square meal. Don't be in a haste to label people as lazy and incompetent without having a clear understanding of their situation.
