Really there is something wrong somewhere. First we heard they are planning to build Modular Refineries, now they want to privatize the world class Refineries that they have already.

Black man with too much wahala...Maybe it's time to get expatriates to run the Refineries for profit. Or possibly make a British man Petroleum minister.

Explore every possibility but whatever you do Biko don't sell our Refineries, hopefully one day we will get it right.

We should consider a British man for president sef! After all, we have done a useless job by ourselves since 1960!!

But Buhari said privatization has not epped PHCN to improve power supply as it was sold to PDP cronies, perhaps he wants to sell the refineries to APC cronies to balance out the action of PDP in the power sector?

Another round of distribution of our Common properties to Indimi, Atiku, Rilwan and Dangote them.
No one will remember the Owners of oil itself until a facility goes up in flames somewhere in the creek and the shameless parasites start shouting 'kill them'

If federal government wants to be sensitive with this auction, they need to find a way to cover some prominent men from Nigeria Delta, otherwise there will always be militancy down there.

Watch out how one Muhammed something will buy the refinery in Port Harcourt and expect the neighbourhood to watch over it for him for free.
But i bet my last money that the Refinery in Kaduna can never be bought by any one from South South or South East even if the person is Buhari's friend. Can we bet on it?
Some of you will think i am preaching disunity or something like that but the truth is that i am preaching the reality. You cant eat with your enemy if you don't have a long spoon.

You can't Kill Saro Wiwa, Jail Tompolo and Asari, give oil license to Atiku, Danjuma, Indimi etc and expect Peace. You must be daft to think the peace will last forever.
I am not from ND but every sensitive government do not use force to settle its internal problems.

These guys you mentioned cannot buy those refineries except Dangote and Dangote wont do that. He is building one.

Refinery operations is not easily profitable like other businesses.

Dangote's refinery is in Lagos, not Kano, Minna, Kaduna etc. Cement factories in Ethiopia, Kenya etc.
Globacom, MTN are in Ghana etc.
Etisalat is an Emirate company in Nigeria. And so on...
It makes no difference. A mentality as such will take you nowhere. Bridges are a means of connection, trade, and economic movement. No land can survive in isolation.

Niger Delta billionaires can invest in the refineries, but they probably won't. But when a Musa, Tunji or Obi invests in it, it becomes 'marginalization'. The South South billionaires need to believe in forming partnerships and strong business conglomerates.

But then, is there any use enlightening one who's life support system is based on darkness? Especially when they don't want the light, to enjoy blaming in the dark.

You seem not to get what i mean here.
North and South West has large number of Muslims. So its easy for them to invest wherever they wanted as long as its within their two regions.
So Dangote building refinery in Lagos or Ibadan is still the same thing to me. I will comment more on this when Dangote builds refinery in Calabar or Enugu

If there are smart business men in the Niger Delta, they should be the ones bidding for the refineries in their region. They can even partner to run the refineries as business entities and conglomerates, just as South Western & Northern business men form strong business partnerships. But no, they won't do that, they will all scream, cry & complain till someone who is more innovative takes the opportunity, and then they cry again. You see the problem of Niger Delta has always been the Niger Delta.

Not really about being smart.
This rot and corruption started right during military era.
IBB, ABACHA Etc allocated those oil wells to their kinsmen from north without open bidding. No expiry date, Nada.
So its too late now. The only solution is to cancel all oil well allocation and perhaps give each Geopolitical zone their percentage since we are preaching one Nigeria.
Until the mineral resources are equally guaranteed to every Zone without regard to tribe, there will be war.

I am sure every part of Nigeria has billionaires who can buy oil wells now. or they can merge.
As long as 90% of oil is in Niger Delta while 90% owners are from North, There is no end to pipeline bombings.

NEPA wasn't properly privatised, public facilities were just given out to 'friends of the govt' with reckless abandon. That notwithstanding, the real reason why power is zero today is because there are people with dynamites in their hands who have sworn that they would ensure no improvement in power supply. Escravos and Agip gas pipelines that supply gas to the main gas power stations have been blown several times this year alone. So next time you think privatisation is the problem, try and take a broader look of what the situation really is.

During campaign when Buhari was asked about the privatization, what did he say; "I do not know of DISCOS AND GENCOS, l only know of NEPA" Nigerians thanked God, hoping he will probe the privatization and or reverse it when he wins. Now he intends to privatize Nigeria even.

The relationship between vandalizing of pipelines, is shortage in energy generation. And this will result in low energy distribution and finally load shading. This means, you have less energy at home and your units will last longer, invariably, you are paying according to what you consume.

What did this government support them in doing? Transferring the burden of running cost and governments inability to protect the pipelines to the consumers, by increasing electricity tariff from N14.38 to N24.08.

When you want to sell properties, you sell it to the highest bidder. If there is anything I'm sure of about the present govt, if it comes to selling off the refineries, they would be sold to the highest bidders and not some slimy friends of govt.

So the question is, if businessmen from the south refuse to bid properly and buy these refineries, and then a northern serious businessman pays a high price for it, why should any right thinking person see this as marginalisation?

And like I said in one of my previous posts, if we want such fairness, we have to cancel every damn oil block license and start a fresh.

IBB, Abacha etc allocated these wells to their people illegally. There were no bidding whatsoever.

So if you want to correct the rich serious businessman crap, the playing ground must be level.
But then, I don't know how old you are.

THE FG is about to sell lemons to unsuspecting investors, an ultra modern refinnery(600,000bpd) running the latest petrochemical process and located in a peaceful area is about to come on board come 2018.....
ANY body dat buys Nigerias refinery is in for it and will never recoup his investment, look at NITEL, NEPA and so many other govt entities that have been sold

From lemons come lemonade.

Let a Niger Deltan buy the Eleme refinery.

Or are we only tuned to destruction?

Instead of Wealthy Niger Delta Men to form Voltron and buy out Port Harcourt and Eleme Refineries, They are busy sponsoring Militants to blow up pipelines.

Dangote by now would have sent scouts to go run checks on all the Refineries and do him a feasibility report on how long it would take him to recover his investment should he put some stacks on it. HE would have also informed his other rich Abokee Hommies too..

Age has little or nothing to do with certain things; a young teenager with a passion for reading and info gathering will be far more informed and exposed than an old man who only romances bottles of kai-kai.

Lol, it doesn't matter who owns all the oil wells, after a while, the ND will still find something to cry about. If the ND had been developed up to Dubai standards by their leaders with the allocation they've been receiving including better education and structures, their level of enlightenment and sophistication would've gone beyond bombing for agitation.

There are creeks in Akwa Ibom, Lagos, Ondo etc. But the level of enlightenment of those living in those areas will never tolerate destruction and pollution for Federal attention. So you see, as I earlier said, the Niger Deltans are their own problem, there are no genuine demands because they will always have something to agitate about.

The last rivers election was the most bloody, heads and bodies everywhere all to the satisfaction of the Niger Deltans. And instead of condemning, you'll hear comments like 'dem murd am, no be strong guy sef'...and the circle continues.

Summarily, all they want is violence at every excuse they can find, it's become a way of life, a culture, a swag, an identity to be unruly. So what's the point?

And later, they (Niger Deltans) will come out and start complaining again that an aboki man is enjoying our oyel. For them to invest now, they say 'sam it is our oyel'. They should continue the bombings while those destined to be wealthy should continue to search for investment opportunities.
