ZUBY77: These guys you mentioned cannot buy those refineries except Dangote and Dangote wont do that. He is building one. Refinery operations is not easily profitable like other businesses. |

deeflamez: You seem not to get what i mean here. North and South West has large number of Muslims. So its easy for them to invest wherever they wanted as long as its within their two regions. So Dangote building refinery in Lagos or Ibadan is still the same thing to me. I will comment more on this when Dangote builds refinery in Calabar or Enugu 1 Like |

deeflamez: Not really about being smart. This rot and corruption started right during military era. IBB, ABACHA Etc allocated those oil wells to their kinsmen from north without open bidding. No expiry date, Nada. So its too late now. The only solution is to cancel all oil well allocation and perhaps give each Geopolitical zone their percentage since we are preaching one Nigeria. Until the mineral resources are equally guaranteed to every Zone without regard to tribe, there will be war. I am sure every part of Nigeria has billionaires who can buy oil wells now. or they can merge. As long as 90% of oil is in Niger Delta while 90% owners are from North, There is no end to pipeline bombings. 1 Like |

obailala: During campaign when Buhari was asked about the privatization, what did he say; "I do not know of DISCOS AND GENCOS, l only know of NEPA" Nigerians thanked God, hoping he will probe the privatization and or reverse it when he wins. Now he intends to privatize Nigeria even. The relationship between vandalizing of pipelines, is shortage in energy generation. And this will result in low energy distribution and finally load shading. This means, you have less energy at home and your units will last longer, invariably, you are paying according to what you consume. What did this government support them in doing? Transferring the burden of running cost and governments inability to protect the pipelines to the consumers, by increasing electricity tariff from N14.38 to N24.08. |

ZUBY77:When you want to sell properties, you sell it to the highest bidder. If there is anything I'm sure of about the present govt, if it comes to selling off the refineries, they would be sold to the highest bidders and not some slimy friends of govt. So the question is, if businessmen from the south refuse to bid properly and buy these refineries, and then a northern serious businessman pays a high price for it, why should any right thinking person see this as marginalisation? 1 Like |

obailala: And like I said in one of my previous posts, if we want such fairness, we have to cancel every damn oil block license and start a fresh. IBB, Abacha etc allocated these wells to their people illegally. There were no bidding whatsoever. So if you want to correct the rich serious businessman crap, the playing ground must be level. But then, I don't know how old you are. 2 Likes |

ZUBY77:Age has little or nothing to do with certain things; a young teenager with a passion for reading and info gathering will be far more informed and exposed than an old man who only romances bottles of kai-kai. |

ZUBY77: Lol, it doesn't matter who owns all the oil wells, after a while, the ND will still find something to cry about. If the ND had been developed up to Dubai standards by their leaders with the allocation they've been receiving including better education and structures, their level of enlightenment and sophistication would've gone beyond bombing for agitation. There are creeks in Akwa Ibom, Lagos, Ondo etc. But the level of enlightenment of those living in those areas will never tolerate destruction and pollution for Federal attention. So you see, as I earlier said, the Niger Deltans are their own problem, there are no genuine demands because they will always have something to agitate about. The last rivers election was the most bloody, heads and bodies everywhere all to the satisfaction of the Niger Deltans. And instead of condemning, you'll hear comments like 'dem murd am, no be strong guy sef'...and the circle continues. Summarily, all they want is violence at every excuse they can find, it's become a way of life, a culture, a swag, an identity to be unruly. So what's the point? |

MadCow1:And later, they (Niger Deltans) will come out and start complaining again that an aboki man is enjoying our oyel. For them to invest now, they say 'sam it is our oyel'. They should continue the bombings while those destined to be wealthy should continue to search for investment opportunities. |
