Dummy, you are really dull to use financial transactions as a measure of valuing development when knowledgeable people use GDP. No southeastern state is close to Ibadan in terms of economy. Ibadan is always in top 5 in Nigeria contesting with major cities like kano and port-harcourt.
Financial transactions is used by banks and is not a way of measuring economy or development. Withdrawing N5000 and depositing it back 5 times doesn't mean you have N25,000 but as long as bank is concerned, you have done a transaction worth N25,000.

Igbo are mainly into trading which requires lots of withdrawals and deposit.

You need to pay for this free education.

You think because am correcting the pictures been posted then i don't know the fact. Does brown roof mean slum, the only thing you guyz have been saying is brown roof, don't you have other reason why it shouldn't be among top ten

You are confused my dear. Ibadan is far ahead of all southwestern state in terms of infrastructure. Even the ancient areas you guys keep posting have better infrastructure (road, water, electricity, hospitals malls, cinema, schools etc) than your own state not to talk of newly built areas.

I remember when shoprite open newly in your state the whole state celebrated it cos you guys have never seen anything close to that in your history. The brown roof houses you guys keep posting were built by our great grand fathers in the 50s and 60s when your people were still living in thick bushes and evil forest.

Use your head for ones and ask yourself why are there no new houses between the brown roofs it's simply because there are many new areas where modern houses are built.

The most important thing is that the brown roof house still have better infrastructure than any area in your beloved anambra and economical more important to Nigeria than anambra.
If you have been to UK before then you will eschew those craps you are vomiting.....is it a crime to pull down red roof for better structure .....is it the same building they built in the era of Sir James McPherson that they are still leaving did Uk have particular place for new structure, i see confusion all around you.....maybe it is because of the mentality of using water to wipe your ass that is still enshrine in your skull....show me a place like Ibadan in Cape town, Durban Jo bug....always playing local champion......living in past glories is a sin Just like someone who owns a Peugeot 505 evolution then and still driving till today and someone bought Range rover now and you console yourself that you are better off than the range rover guy.....pleas stop this hype....Ibadan remains a slum take it or leave it.....

Dummy, Igbos are mainly traders that buy and sell on a daily basis, when they sell they deposit and when they want to buy they withdraw. The circle keeps repeating on a daily basis, my friend that is not a measure of development or wealth.

If I withdraw N5000 from Bank and bought a shoe for N4500 which I later sold for N5000 and deposited it back to the bank the same day, financial transaction for that day is recorded as N10,000 but I truly don't have that amount in reality. Imagine repeating the same thing on a daily basis and tell me what my financial transaction will be for a week not to talk of a month.

You just reason, how will anambra's financial transactions be higher than Lagos, port-harcourt, kano, Ibadan, ogun or Kaduna. These are the states with the highest GDP contributions in Nigeria. If anambra is that wealth Igbos won't be rushing down to Lagos and other South Western States on a daily basis.

dull-witted!Bank credit/deposit in each state may be used as an indicator of the level of activity and well being of operators (households and businesses) in a particular state as it shows what residents are borrowing and the amount deposit in banks. I know you are pained tongue

And so what?

I thought this quote from..would do justice to that :

And what have you to say about these.. :

Lagos State accounted for the largest share of active voice subscribers with 19.04 million or 12.8% of the total, followed by Ogun State with 8.53 million subscribers or 5.7%, Kano State with 7.81 million or 5.25%, Oyo State with 7.53 million subscribers or 5.06% of the total, then FCT and Rivers State with 6.03 million (4.05%) and 5.84 million (3.93%) respectively. It is observed that four of the top five States (Lagos, Ogun, Oyo and Kaduna) with respect to active voice subscriptions had total subscribers in excess of their official population number as provided by the Nigerian Population Commission as shown in table 3 except for Kano and Rivers whose official population figures exceeded the number of active voice subscribers at the end of q1 2016.

Table 1 also shows that Lagos was the dominant market for all of the active voice telecom companies accounting for 10.05% of MTN total voice subscribers (followed by Ogun, Kaduna and Rivers in that order); 10.03% for Glo (followed by Oyo, Niger, Ogun and FCT in that order); 16.0% for Airtel (followed by Ogun, Kano and Oyo); and 19.1% of Etisalat voice subscribers (followed by Ogun, Kaduna and Rivers in that order

Ibadan I served scores 4 over 10 from those criteria you enumerated

grin Is that all you can do. Hope you also agreed that Ibadan is ahead of Awka, Onitsha and Enugu (except on natural environment) with these 4 factors. Agreed! grin

Now let us go to the other factors on the list.

Starting with;

Economic Environment: Simply means the conditions for investors to invest and make profit in an environment. Chikena!

Now, tell me how many investors besides Anambra man are investing in 'ONITSHA' and 'AWKA'(I did not mention state oooo) and how many are in Enugu due to fair Taxes, interest rates, currency exchange rates, inflation, consumer discretionary income, saving rates, consumer confidence levels, recession, depression and unemployment rate?

Now, List all the benefits of Awka, Onitsha and Enugu as a result of their economic environment as I listed for Ibadan below.

So far Ibadan pass them for this one too.

The main industries in the area include the processing of agricultural products; Tobacco processing and Cigarette (Manufacture); flour-milling, leather-working, Automobile plant and furniture-making.

There are several cattle ranches, a dairy farm as well as a commercial abattoir in Ibadan.

The headquarters of the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) have extensive grounds for crop and agricultural research into key tropical crops such as bananas, plantains, maize, cassava, soybean, cow pea and yam.[12]

According to a report, Ibadan is the 3rd cheapest Nigerian city to live in.[13]

That is why many poultry farms like, Zartech limited, Anu- oluwa farms, Chi farms, Rom oil mill limited ( biggest automated edible oil refinery and margarine company in sub- Sahara Africa, flour mill, Leyland Busan motor company limited, Pamper, Huggies, American British tobacco company , Sumal Foods Limited ecetera.

2 Housing grin How many housing estates are in Awka, Onitsha and Enugu?

Is there any of their Estate among the top 10 most expensive Estate in Nigeria? Ibadan has one on the list and that alone show that the real estate business in Ibadan is no childs' play. It is a very lucrative business.

Tell us how of any popular real estate investors now investing or invested in Onitsha, Akwa and Enugu real estate business.

3) Medical grin Una get hospital wey better pass UCH. The best in Nigeria? If not Ibadan don surpass Awka, Onitsha and Enugu. grin l no wan talk too much on dis one. grin

4) Political and Social Environment; Government actions which affects the operations of a company or business. These actions may be on local, regional, national or international level. Business owners and managers pay close attention to the political environment to gauge how government actions will affect their company. This has to do security issues that deals political violence, robbery, kidnapping ecetera.

ii, Social environment; the environment developed by humans as contrasted with the natural environment; society as a whole, especially in its relation to the individual.

The environment developed by humans as contrasted with the natural environment; society as a whole, especially in its relation to the individual. e,g if evidence for nepotism, tribalism is present in such a complex social environment or the tremendous stress of poverty and social isolation, then such cities lacks social relationship.

U don read am finish? Straight to the benefit or results of political and social environment.

How many foreigners are doing business in Awka, Onitsha and Enugu?

How many foreigners dey buy land take build business or houses in Awka, Onitsha and Enugu compare to Ibadan? grin You see am grin Ibadan pass them for this one too.

5) Education; AN expatriate or an average Nigeria can educate his/her children from preschool up to University in Ibadan because Ibadan has many international schools owned by Americans, Lebanese and well trained Nigerian in terms of quality education. e.g IITA school, American Christian Academy, Life forte international, bodija international, The Ibadan international school french school etcetera and don't forget that one of the best rated universities in the world and in Nigeria is sited in Ibadan. University of Ibadan to be precise. grin Don't forget there are lots of institutions in Ibadan. grin

As you can see Ibadan pass dem once again. grin

Modifypost: l forgot to add schools and Education.

As you can see you need to adjust the scores very well. grin

Maybe 10 over 10 kwa! grin meaning Ibadan is by far more infrastructurally developed than Awka, Onitsha and Enugu.

. I have no beef against Ibadan neither do I believe I'm more travelled than you , but ranking Ibadan anywhere close to 10 infrastructurally developed city is an insult to Nigeria. When it comes to city road network ibadan has a very poor mark in that when you compared to most cities including Abuja you said you lived in. Access to electricity? There you made some gleering wrong assumption again, every city in Nigeria has some degree of unstable electricity power supply, but when it comes to which has better supply, Ibadan is no were close to the Abuja, lagos, PH or enugu. Water supply? Did you say ibadan has an excellent what supply(at least by Nigerian standard)? Ibadan is just a regular nigerian city when it comes to Night and social life. Better cities like the ones i mention earlier has far better night life. Like i said Ibadan is not and shouldn't yet be among the top 10 infrastructurally develop city in Nigeria. Unless you talking of the very cheap housing and stuffs like that.
it is obvious you know nothing about Ibadan beyond what your misinformed mind thinks it is. name the infrastructure lists those other cities possess and let us talk about them empirically .

The brown roofs of ibadan is the same in all Nigerian Ancient Southern Cities. Take it or leave it.

Lagos, 6 other states control 90% of cash transactions in Nigeria – CBN

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has said that Lagos and six other states control about 90 per cent of cash transactions in the country. The other states are Rivers, Anambra, Abia, Kano, Ogun and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

If my lovely Ibadan is not on that list of highest spenders, then the CBN is biased and must be headed by one ibo man.

Ngozi, firstly it was not a Yoruba that opened the thread but am Igbo clown from Abia state and his name is Chidiebere Nwabekeyi while his NL usernames are Obafemiawolowo, customized13, ooni, nwabekeyi, lolzzz, etc. Since I have such background information as the above that was why I was particular about him posting the pictures from Abia state particularly the ones from Aba..lol! The insults were crisscrossing, yorubas hauling insults to the Igbo states and cities while Igbos were responding respectively against their states and cities. I have been on NL for long to know how to watch events and fire on targets..

The yorubas are saints! grin grin grin grin

I never asked you to mention people's names. If you can't reply without mentioning people's names, then it's funny. What do you gain from that?

Read the entire thread, people from all walks have been insulting your cities and you just chose one person to prove wrong. That's my observation

Ngozi, I have read the through the thread and your own city and state has been insulted too. Besides I have to mention names for you to know that I am very sure of who is who as far as NL is concerned. Like as I said since it was Igbo guy that opened the thread I was waiting for any Igbo outside Yoruba to insult my state then you will see the stuff am made of. Yorubas did not open the thread so how can I accuse them of insulting my state or any other Igbo state. The person I chose to quote was the same person that opened the thread that was why I was particular about him. What do you want me to do when the insults were crisscrossing between Igbos and Yorubas? I was waiting in the wings for the clown that opened the thread to insult my state then you would have met this thread bleeding with the real pictures from his own state. I am not bluffing because I know I can go to any extreme when I start my own! cool
