People are just commenting rubbish without knowing the fact. What happened was that fresh students came to the university and the ICT sever was making the booking of accommodation difficult. So they tried embark on a peaceful protest to call on the mgt to urgently proffer solutions, because they complain that they are tired of squatting in friends' rooms. As for those guys saying 9 person/ room, it's a blatant lie. Accommodation in ATBU is 4person/room and it N5090 per bedspace.

Lol! Am a graduate of ATBU. So you can't know it more than me.
Go and ask what happened to the first set of MBBS students students around 2012 when they were about to enter 200level. ATBU teaching hospital was built by former Governor Adamu Muazu and it was state owned before the federal government acquired it during Yugudas first term. Before then the medicine programme had to be canceled and most students had to either be transfered to other universities or changed their courses of study.
About five different disciplines were added in School of engineering alone during my stay, but no single hostel was built which is why the accommodation problem kept aggravating.
If you wrote your JAMB in 2015 you wouldn't know what am talking about. so go ask your elders.
2012huh wake up bro! we are in 2016

What changed? How many hostel blocks were built since that time in Yelwa Campus? How many new programmes have been added?
Even at that time only freshers and final year students are given bed spaces, even at that it was 6-7 people per two-man room! So what changed?

Yes am aware of school of agric relocation, but not education. Anyway the point is ATBU has the worst accommodation crisis compared to its counterparts like BUK ABU UniMaid and the likes which warrants the protest and am simply identifying with the protesters that indeed there is acute shortage of accommodation in the school that is now getting unbearable.
I rest my case.

My friend be informed, Tech. edu has relocated since last session.
Let me bare it out completely
Yes I know ATBU lacks capacity to accommodate all its students and that's is the same everywhere and the unimaid, buk n ABU u made reference to, their worse pass atbu. I did rems in unimaid and IT was in ABU/NAERLS, so I know what I'm saying.
On the protest... The op misinformed and misled you guys. the protest isn't about shortage of accommodation but denial by the skul authority to allow students sleep in the rooms pending when they finished registration.
The server (online reg.) is given a lot of problems as student finds it very difficult to pay for accom. and d skul fees at the moment, many came from distant places and cannot find place to sleep, that ignited the protest.
Typing live from ATBU
Pls argue no more

I'm not arguing that you didn't graduate, and I'm not even a student of ATBU or a Jambite.

It's just funny how you alumni of the institution cast around a bad image of the school.

And, congratulations on finding Google.
