What do you expect from an illiterate? Always serving from one state to another. Instead of the du.Llard to say he once hawked okpa in those state. He thought one can "repeat" service years. grin Like repeating in Primary schools.

Development is knowing which state proportionally did better.
It shows the status of the education system which on its own is part of development

Envy is your major problem as we are not responsible for your state being cursed while we are advancing supersonically. Now i understand why you are frustrated because our state is making every positive list while yours is making negative ones. LOL! You mean this is the infrastructure you were provided with in Aba? LOL! So you are now an authority to decide who makes any list when your Abia state is the worst in the whole federation, pictures don't lie as we care-less about your useless list that defiles everything in reality. What a shame. .LOL! Aba in reality. This is a month old pix that shows how terrible and horrible your state is. Tufia! shocked

Comparing Ibadan to any SE 'TOWN' is like comparing #50 to #500. Even the only reason why i will put PH above IB is because of some massive structures there. i miss ib though.

Hehehe! Na so! grin

P/h. Hmmm!

These factors listed below will determine which is better.

But I am sure Ibadan rates higher on no 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9. grin

1, Consumer goods

2, Economic environment

3, Housing

4, Medical and Health consideration

5, Natural environment

6, Political and Social environment

7, Recreation

8, Schools and Education

9, social and cultural environment

10, Public services and Transportation

1. Lagos
2. Abuja
3. Port Harcourt
4. Enugu
5. Ibadan
6. Kaduna
7. Calabar
8. Kano
9. Uyo
10. Owerri.

My opinion though

Ibadan on the list qualifies ph, else ph shouldn't be there

. I have no beef against Ibadan neither do I believe I'm more travelled than you , but ranking Ibadan anywhere close to 10 infrastructurally developed city is an insult to Nigeria. When it comes to city road network ibadan has a very poor mark in that when you compared to most cities including Abuja you said you lived in. Access to electricity? There you made some gleering wrong assumption again, every city in Nigeria has some degree of unstable electricity power supply, but when it comes to which has better supply, Ibadan is no were close to the Abuja, lagos, PH or enugu. Water supply? Did you say ibadan has an excellent what supply(at least by Nigerian standard)? Ibadan is just a regular nigerian city when it comes to Night and social life. Better cities like the ones i mention earlier has far better night life. Like i said Ibadan is not and shouldn't yet be among the top 10 infrastructurally develop city in Nigeria. Unless you talking of the very cheap housing and stuffs like that.

Your judging infrastructural development by night life? Lol, OK. No more comment.

If a city has piped gas, piped water, good roads, good road network, good security, constant electricity, produces some major things cheaply, then it has good infrastructure, especially if that city is not expensive.

Ibadan has everything you want to imagine, they have better piped water than Lagos, better road network, residents take charge of security by employing OPC or Bariba to secure their areas. Ibadan has cattle ranches and beef is cheaper there than in most Nigerian cities. There is an excellent football stadium, one of the best, huge markets and a lot of notable residents. Lebanese, American and etc. If you have to choose between Lagos and Ibadan with thesame income, you will choose Ibadan unless you are a fool of course because Ibadan is cheaper. So, I will say no Nigerian city is ahead of Ibadan unless you can show how and Ibadan is like a bigger Ilesa, Osogbo, Enugu and etc because Ibadan is as cheap as those cities but still has everything you may be looking for in Abuja or Lagos sometimes moreso. I grew up in Ilesa though.

On the ranking of cities by economic size that will be

Lagos

Ibadan

Kano

Benin

Port Harcourt

Ogbomosho

Maiduguri

Kaduna

and etc maybe not accurately but not far from that.

So people should stop deceiving themselves.

This is a United Nations report. Oyo has two of Africa's mega cities, Kaduna also has two, Edo has one, Kano has one. Lagos one, Borno has one, Rivers one and etc.
So a mega city has more economic worth than non megacities in thesame country. Ogun has none but have more population than Edo and Rivers with one each and so on and so forth.

Abidjan, Mogadishu, Accra, Nairobi and etc are ranked higher than any Nigerian city save Lagos.

The Yoruba cities there are Lagos, Ibadan and Ogbomosho, Hausa are Kano, Kaduna, Zaria. Kanuri is Maiduguri. Igboid is PH. Edo is Benin. Abuja is Gwari even Kaduna is Gwari but in the NW. If the population benchmark were reduced to 500 thousand, probably cities like Enugu, Abeokuta, Ife, Ilesa, Onitsha, Owerri, Osogbo and etc would be included.

Re: 10 Infrastructurally Most Advanced Cities In Nigeria. by lebete3000: 11:58am On Jun 05, 2017
Growing up in Ibadan made me realize there is something called tap(piped-borne) water. Ibadan is an ancient city, a historical town, that explains the old brown roofs in some areas. Some corps members don't even want to go back to their states after their youth service because of the peaceful nature and calmness of the city. There are big shopping malls, cinemas, relaxation/recreation centres, hotels, night clubs..... etc. Shoprite has two big outlets in the town already. I know of the publishing houses where writers all over Nigeria and Africa publish their books many years ago. Theater groups in Nigeria back in the days come to Ibadan for stage plays so they can be aired on national TV. NTA Ibadan is the first in Africa, UCH(University college hospital) and Uni of Ibadan(Nigeria's first) are in Ibadan as well. Cocoa house was once the tallest building in tropical Africa, various world class research institutes are dominated here. There is stable electricity, security and so on. Because there are some buildings with old roofs, it means the whole town looks that way. Big No. Have you been to Akobo, Agodi, Ikolaba, Oluyole, Iyaganku, Ring Road, Challenge, Jericho, New and Old Bodija? One thing I can say is we are exposed. Give Ibadan Lagoons or the Atlantic Ocean and see what will happen. People on this thread writing nonsense about the city, go and take few courses in history. Comparing just a city with some states.
