It's nothing to do with Europeans. Trust me most Nigerian major cities I own properties like Owerri, Enugu, Port Harcourt and Abuja have master plans. Every plot of land is recorded and its purpose clearly defined. There are areas mapped out for open spaces, recreational parks, future rail lines, power lines, schools etc. Some are even digital like Greater PH city where you can view everything using google earth at their office to point out specific plots.

In most cases the natives of the area often take laws into their hands because of rising property value and at the end of the day Government is forced to yield to their excesses. In our tradition they own the lands while by law Government does.

Absolute rubbish. There was nothing 'planned' about Lagos. The whites only 'planned' Ikoyi for themselves and left the rest of Lagos to rot. Similar occurred in PH and every other city.

in terms of economy port harcourt is more advanced no doubt, but development transcends that.
Nigeria is a bigger economy than south Africa but is Nigeria more developed? Is china more developed than US yet its economy has overtaken that of US

Enugu has a better and cheaper transport system, road network, security etc Than PH

also things are quite cheaper there as against PH which is too expensive.

The problem PH had was the state creation. It was planned to be a port city to serve the eastern region. It was never planned to be an administrative capital like Enugu, calabar and owerri. It should be a big commercial center like Onitsha and Aba.
But it was made River state capital. How can one place serve as an oil city, industrial center and a state capital. It surely wont be as organised a Enugu

you've been to calabar many times fine, but you can't see anything because you've been blinded by tribal bigotry and sentiments. Calabar has been Nigeria's most beautiful capital city for years, a very clean and lush green city that whenever you come to Nigeria and mention beautiful Calabar comes to mind, where in Enugu and owerri do you have the kind of green trees and shrubs that graces calabar highway in that length, where do you have any resort compared to tinapa and marina even though they are deteriorated now? I bet you to go round calabar municipal and count the number of pot holes you'll see compared to your Enugu and owerri . it's more dangerous to have eyes and can't see, beats me how someone with sense will compare owerri to calabar

Calabar is the finest. Their only issue is with Calabar South which is a ghetto like we have in other Nigerian cities. Calabar does not have beautiful houses like Owerri or Enugu but there is a very good arrangement of houses that makes driving there much more pleasant to the eyes.

I even prefer Calabar to Abuja with my reservation being that it is an isolated town with no access road. I stopped going there in 2013 after I was stuck for hours between Itu and Odukpani with my family. It was a horrible experience.

You should be comparing PH with Aba and not Enugu. Enugu is on another level.

okay so there's no flooding in enugu when it rains and people can actually sleep with their doors open? Umm pls go through those benchmarks i made for the comparison, cos i think you mistook ph for calabar which in my opinion calabar is more serene, safe, has less trafic, little/no flooding, clean environment, lots of greenery(off my hat for them) and well planned streets too lined with boulevards.
