Don't we have any law(s) against sexual harassment? No matter where it occurs, it is a crime. This is a true indication of the kind of clueless lot dat populate our law making chambers. Shame. This bill is a total and colossal waist of Manhours and National time.

Sexual harassment is a crime. Weather na lecturer sexing a student for grades, a Boss sexing an employee for promotion, the Police sexing a prostitute for bail, e.t.c..

Why pass a bill on something that is already a crime?

Dino knew what he was saying 50% of girls in the university intentionally seduce lecturers to have sex with dem. ..I think I love his suggestions there should be penalties for those girls too If possible

I am for the bill, but we should also know that most ladies in higher institutions these day are there with empty brain? their only means of survival or grade is through sex?. when this bill is passed, let's not be surprised to see some of the block headed babes spending 8 years in school and coming out with ordinary pass. lecturers will become stricter, and everybody will feel it, even the guys.

How can a grown adult claim he was seduced ?

My first experience of this issue as a guy was when i was in 100 level abt 11 yrs back. I sat for an exam and i was so focused on finishing each question, only for this lecturer to come out of nowhere to accuse me and the guy next to me that we were cheating, he collected our question papers and ordered us out of the hall. Thank God have finished abt 80% of the questions, i didnt even know what the guy next to me looked like. The guy approached me outside of the hall where i was worried abt not finishing my exam, he told me " No mind that yeye lecturer he don tell me make i leave my babe for am or else hin no go graduate me for this school" Omo i shock so the only way he could implicate that guy was to rub me in the so called cheating scandal so he could get to the guy. Na wa for our lecturers, i hope this bill really keep them in check.

It is very bad in the contest of that debate and it only exposes his thinking.
The bill was about harassment not seduction, if he felt lecturers should be
protected from seduction why doesn't he introduce a bill to that effect instead
of subtly condemning the anti-harassment bill.

A Bill which aims to commit randy lecturers at tertiary institutions to a minimum of five years in jail, scaled second reading Tuesday in the Senate. The Bill sponsored by Senator Ovie Omo-Agege (Delta-Central) and 57 others received overwhelming support especially from female senators who saw it as an opportunity to voice out the frustration and abuse of female students by their teachers. In his lead debate on the bill, Omo-Agege regretted that unlike universities abroad, tertiary institutions in the country were permissive of sexual harassment on campuses. He urged the Senate to accelerate the passage of the Bill into law in order to tackle the menace. Senators Theodore Orji, Biodun Olujimi, Stella Oduah, Binta Garba Masi and other senators who contributed to the Bill, sought stiffer penalties for errant teachers.
