The message you received as alert doesnt even contain your available bank balance. Check the message again if u still av it. Authentic sms alert wi include the remaining balance in ur account.

Genuine bank alerts don't show glo as message center number.

I sold an iPhone to this scammer and he did a bank transfer.. I received d alert thinking the money was in and we parted ways. Little did I know that I have just been scammed and it was a fake credit alert. His phone no has been switched off but his whatsapp no is going... Who can help trace him... BEWARE OF BANK ALERTS

Oga, you should have simply report the matter to law enforcement agencies instead of bringing it online.

How do you want us to catch the criminal now. Even if we succeeded in striking a conversation with him via whatsapp, will that make him return your phone?

How cn someone scam u with credit alert! Did u tell him ur prevous balance? Or u didn't even check the balance in the message?

Yes he can be traced, take his number to the police or efcc, somebody registered that number with photo capture and address and also with an I.D card

The only problem is that the process might take too long. The op must also be willing to drop some "Roger" for the police - the amount he might be asked to pay might be discouraging TBH.

Op, i'd suggest you search that number on the "true-caller" App - you might be lucky to get his real name in the process. Subsequent searches on Facebook and other Social media platforms could also yeild positive results.

Mehn! that's bulk SMS Shit, you should have checked your balance.... I'm sure the message didn't contain your balance.... Nobody can try that with me tho, I learn everyday.

such amount should be for an iphone 6. i guess.. op this scam is not new.. once a transfer is made to you.. your balance must change.. didnt the msg contain your act balance.. am really sad about this.. thats how they scamed my mum 40k ..op didnt you see your act balance in the text you received?

His real account balance it not shown there, and that was OP's mistake. He just saw the amount credited but refused to check d balance.

Scammers are on the rise now

Got scammed by Airtel sim card sellers who collected 2k from me for promo and handed me 19 new sims.. Got home to discover it was all a scam..

Oga, there's no account balance there na. Credit transfer alert is even different from normal deposit alert. The scammer used deposit alert format for transfer's own. Again, bank alerts don't show message center number.
