Yorubas do make sense and have many intellects. Wonder what pushed them to present quagmire? True fiscal federalism is the way to go. As they are discovering more oil, gas and bitumen in the West, they are now seeing the need for true federalism as being fought over the years by SS and SE only.

To start the day with hatred and tribalism is not good.

It's just like condemning governors from other regions where few are diligent just like Obiano.

Back to topic when an economy is monopolised and the resource producing majority of the country's income drop in value, ofcourse inflation, unemployment, etc will set in. Just like the state governor said, every region suppose to hit the ground running by bringing something to the table instead of perching on one source for lively hood. From the onset, we have never practice federalism.
All yoruba governors are not good governors.

Don't mind the hypocrites. They've always known this too be true but their lust for oil money won't allow them reason. The North knows the game is over.

The North is scared because regionalism will force them to become more responsible and will make them stop sending folks to stone the devil in Mecca.

Actually it's a win win situation for everyone.

Our system of government, alias, feeding bottle, unitary system of government is the stumbling block. It doesn't matter who occupies Aso Rock, if we don't replace this backward system with a more responsible, true federalism, Nigeria shall never experience any peace and development.

God bless the Governor for stating the truth everyone knows about Nigeria. We must decentralise this system and give more powers and responsibilities to the states and local government areas.

Lalasticalala, please.
That was what I told many people before last year election; that we only need to change the system and even a retarded dullard will perform exceptionally well. Alas everyone want to taste Central and fill their purse...God will help Nigeria

Your are right. APC peoples are nothing both noise makers.
Now they are shouting corruption as if 70% of them were not part of the last administration. We need to tell ourselves the hard truth.

Regionalism will benefit us all; take the issue of tomatoes; see what revenue the North is generating from this, but oil money has blinded us all. We need to think deep and maximise our comparative advantage

How does the nation in question generate this fund? Was it not through the percentage given by the state to the federal? If really he is not preaching true federalism, I wonder what he is trying to air out from your own point of view?

I want you to know that the way revenue are shared is a function of circumstances and events, if he is really clamouring for increased in cash to be distributed to state, I think such events has necessitated it and those inflow to state must not remain permanent amount in cash ( it ought to be review)
We should practice American system; whereby each states manage its resources ; everyone will develop fast and there will not be over dependence on FG . Everybody will cut his cloth according to the material available. God bless Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The current happenings in Nigeria won't allow the present and future government to buy the idea of america federalism. It would be deadly and this may eventually lead to Nigeria break up.

I understand you sir, truly only youth like us are thinking along that line; though the elders will think otherwise. It is the best for us to have a weak centre and allow states to develop at their own pace. You will be surprised that we will be better off as a nation and their will be less agitation for Presidency. God will help us as a nation.

True federalism will not work again because we miss d journey in 1966 to 1970. Dim odumegwu ojukwu is a hero of Nigeria, He see d vision and many reject it and blood is shied, so no remedy. Remember "ABURI ACCORD IN GHANA BY NIGERIA MILITARY PERSONEEL". Nigeria in a journey of no RETURN Only DISINTEGRATION is the ANSWER.

It is a pity that many of the staunch advocates of true federalism and the restructuring of Nigeria like Tinubu, Fayemi, Osoba, etc who have always voiced out their displeasures at the asphyxiating nature of our pseudo-federalist system of government have suddenly gone mute since their party became the ruling party.
One would have expected that they would have advised the President to implement the recommendations of the 2014 National Convention or convoke a new one. But none of these has happened. It now seems to them that all is well with the federalism we practise in the country.

Amosun's understanding of what federalism is is absolutely inchoate. He appears to be only covetous of the huge revenue that gets to the coffers of the federal government and looks like one of those state governors who love to go cap in hand to Abuja for a measly federal allocation.

True federalism is the only way out of the current logjam--both political and economical that we found ourselves in. States should be equal partners in the administration of this country and not subordinates. The long years of military rule brought us to this end. It is really disheartening that sixteen years after the return to democracy, nothing has been done to correct the anomaly.
I agree. I expected the politicians that forced the military out of governance to wean us from military federalism. Unfortunately, the doctor became the patient. They went to sleep probably because system allocated power and money to the centre .

As events have now proved, it is for selfish reasons, evidenced by the amount of our Commonwealth they have purloined for themselves.

In as much I loved the benefits of true federalism, I am afraid of the consequences that would follow immediately. The aftermath of this action might be disastrous, but if this would save us from fraud being practised by our leaders, then I accept wholeheartedly
