All thanks to the Dullard. You can see the job losses due to the closure of this airline in Nigeria!

It is not only Nigeria operations.

If they are not making profit, why should they be flying ?

This is only the beginning. This Dullard is a dead man!

You people should stop writing about what you have no idea about. If they are leaving, it's not because of the downtown in Economy...

oga please what has led to the reduced load factor....could that be because of a downturn in the economy?

If a man like Governor Donald Duke of Cross River states was given the opportunity to be President by Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, Nigeria would have achieve more.

Jonathan that Obasanjo handpick came in to complicate the country problem.

This uneducated president will finish this country. Have we ever had it this bad? Yet his gullible zombies will find a way to blame the previous government.

Shame on all those who criticized GEJ but have kept quiet in the face of Buhari's clear ineptitude.

I am gradually finding out that even the integrity he claims is seriously garnished with double standards. If not how can anyone explain to me why buhari has refused to block the loopholes in govt that will stop ongoing corruption. For e.g make security votes accountable and auditable. Ensure that large cash withdrawals are stopped by banks so that most funds can have a trace. Ensure that all public officials publicly declare their assets- after all they are public officials. Ensure open contracting and develop guidelines for payment of contractors thus reducing the power of civil servants to decide who gets what job and which contractor gets paid. All buhari is doing now amounts to running after a robber that has already stolen from your house while leaving the window he stole through open for another thief to come and steal.

True. In a way, this should be music in the ears of Arik. But as low load factor forced United out of the route, Arik may not fare better in terms of increased passenger numbers flying between the US and Nigeria.
you people will just be saying nonsense...
ordinary local route Arik cannot maintain, no day passes without arik cancelling or delaying their flights and you expect them to do well flying int'l? Aik is not even on any GDS
i mean Arik does not even fly outside Africa because they do not have the expertise, management and facilities in place to operate such route. they can only partner other airlines.
Our saving grace is Etihad and Emirates..... infact all arab airlines flies to the US at a cheap rate

Stop misinforming people @OP, United Airline has never been in Nigeria. It is a US airline and I have flown to the US with it a couple of times. The company stopped coming to Nigeria because of low patronage.

This has little to do with economy but majorly with the traffic of people going and coming.

People thought that integrity was sufficient (though in fact Buhari lacks this in any case) as many Nigerians think Nigeria's main problem is corruption. When people read stories about $20bn being pilfered in an 18 month period, it's tempting to think that by merely removing those thieves, much of our problems are solved. The snag in this line of thinking is that the factual premise - about the scale of corruption - was exaggerated in the first place.

Nigeria has a massive corruption problem, probably unrivalled in scale anywhere else, but the policy environment trumps corruption as the greater obstacle to prosperity. You can develop with corruption & good policies but not with bad policies even if you totally eliminate corruption. Not only would Buhari not have eliminated corruption, he wouldn't have been able to get elected without financing from corrupt allies, but his poor grasp of policy would overwhelm any achievements from the purported anti-corruption drive.

Well, they're one of the top two in Nigeria, the second being Air Nigeria.

That says a lot about local Nigerian airlines. Their customer service is beyond terrible, they cancel or delay flights with amazing regularity, and they are hardly consistent. One time they flew people from Owerri to Lagos with no AC in the plane.

Ironically, I flew them to London in 2009 and they were very okay. Also, an expat in my office flew them to New York, and they weren't bad, sometime last year. So maybe they put extra efforts in the long haul flights, especially as they're not only dealing with Nigerians.

In summary, I wonder why one even needs to ask. Air travel locally is traumatic in Nigeria, and the experience is often nasty, irrespective of which airline it is. The other nondescript airlines, like Dana and Chachangi, I don't even try to move near them.

Do you now agree that Arik flies INTERNATIONAL routes, including direct to New York?
Why would you not advice your enemies to fly Arik?
Would you advise your enemies to buy or use anything that YOU make/sell as a Nigerian?
Could you please check and share the meaning of HYPOCRITE
Thanks.

You had the opportunity to 'town hall' with him before elections. He evaded them, you kept quiet then put all your life savings in. When I say the electorate, followership is the problem.

The best description for the much chanted anti corruption war. As it was in his first coming so is it now.
