Considering that many use the words like Ipob, iPod, etc to veil tribally bigoted insults at others, without any repercussions, from whence do you get the moral mandate to select on which opinions to CENSOR in a public forum?
The poster who wrote this ^^ earned the only like and share I gave on this thread.

I see news of bombings on FP, and I'm more concerned about how their brazen attacks affect me. I have not had light for close to a week now. I think of others who are suffering too; those who have lost lives and loved ones.
It's saddening.

Then I become angry at them (NDA).

But within split seconds --- I enter into a sort of monologue which goes like this:-

Miz - This ND avengers are really constituting a nuisance o. Gosh, what is Buhari waiting for?! He should clear these guys already joor. We have enough pillaging us already.

Gentle Voice - Okay, Miz, let's for once put ourselves in the shoes of this lot. Let's agree that their demands are legit, that they're not just after some heavy bribe.
Miz, have you been to a typical oil well community in the ND? I'm sure you've seen pictures of how sorry their place of abode look?
What will it take the FG AND concerned parties to ensure that the living standard of these lot are improved? What? The oil you enjoy from their lands is equivalent to Blood Oil!

Miz - Okay fine, you make fine points, but VIOLENCE is never the answer.

Gentle Voice - You are right. It isn't. They too are counting their losses, or perhaps, have counted them. But if you were in their shoes, I mean, if you were really in their shoes, you will see this as the only way out. Afterall, if they continue to be docile and quiet, it's only a matter of time before they are wiped off the earth's surface. Either way, the option before them is death as long as government refuses to give in to their demands.

Miz - You're right again. Okay you know what, no more talks on this. Let's just hope that things get better for those who live in the ND.
Let's also pray for the right people to man the affairs of these people and our country generally.

Gentle Voice - Amen.
^^
Personal Schism aptly describes what I feel as it pertains this violence by Niger Delta Militants. I can neither confirm nor deny that I support their cause.

I seem to be bewildered by the Op, seriously is it an offence to report happenings in Nigeria on nairaland?
When Yoruba people called for an end to one Nigeria after the mile12 abi 2 saga in Lagos, you never called for banning it. I think you have to go and take your medications because this is almost month end. It seems your mental state is usually on the red button whenever its end of month.
If you like ban me or ban the topics related to NDA but I don't see that ending their agitation.
Come to think of it, is it not better to report their activities so that one knows when to travel so as not to be a victim to their havoc?

It's as if we're back to the time when these same paid agents open multiple threads on nairaland to promote PDP/Kanu Nnamdi's plan B to frustrate the current president by resuscitating biafra. Now it's the Ijaw militants who are embittered by the loss of their son in the last election that they are using as decoy.
All the first page of the politics is now filled with news on the Ijaw militants with similar slant and literary style used by the PDP/Kanu Nnamdi supporters shocked shocked shocked

They can go ahead and create their own website to promote their agenda #notournairaland.

The persons behind these two monikers should go get a room. This thread is for far more serious issues and not to flex your literary biceps. undecided

Reyginus, you made excellent points on the previous page. Sadly, the owner(s) of nairaland wont see the light of reason. Tribalism, nepotism and hatred have clouded their sense of judgment.

All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident. - Arthur Schopenhauer

The truth about this contraption called nigeria is in the second stage, sadly, there's nothing you guys can do about it. undecided

Each member is responsible for his/her posts but you still-You must not air views contrary to the owners stipulations. Very dictator-like. The only thing needed here is to make sure people are not allowed to sling insults towards each other. Decorum is very important and members should comment in a matured manner.
P.S-I dare Seun to order Mynd44 to close every thread concerning Niger-Delta secession. Afterall it is illegal.

Must everyone vote for Buhari to have his say count?

I think the businessideas is trying to blackmail seun and Mynd44 into
doing his bidding, there is a clear difference between calling
for secession and having different opinion regarding the NDA , I and some
others believe negotiation is the best response even though some
APC agents will tag us as unpatriotic because of our views.

Nairaland is a public forum not a rubber stamp for partisan beliefs.

You are right.

Only those people that enslaving the masses are the proponents of one nigeria.
Those that forced one nigeria on the country many decades ago are today billionaires in dollars while common man cannot get food to eat.
anybody that believes people don't have a right to self determination should go for asylum.

nigeria is a failed country and I wonder how long it will take for my people to come to this reality.

NL is a very good tool and I promise you can't control all the message flying left right front and center..

Ban people from today till next year..As long as their post hit for 1min, whatever goals has been achieved and completed. .

As long as NL is open for business people must use it to promote all that they could, thing you like and things you detested must pass some users once in a while..

NL is a powerful tool and has contributed immensely towards promotion of everything you hate..

There is nothing you or anyone could do abt it.. Sorry!!
When you ban people they quickly open another moniker, unfortunately you don't have control over this..

One nigeria failed to be a sensible country.

Even it can never be a sensible country.
By their post you shall know them.

This forum is a not your regular online forum like facebook or twitter. This is a forum for Nigerians. If Nigeria fails, Nairaland fails. Our membership and destiny of this forum is tied to the destiny of Nigeria.

So it's in Nairaland's and genuine Nairalanders interest that Nigeria stands, if your intention is to break up Nigeria, you don't belong here.
If you don't like it, go ahead and create your forum, name it antiNairaland or Avengerland or Bokoharamland forum where the criteria for membership will be that you come from the area of Nigeria who didn't vote for President Buhari and for evil intentions can't wait till 2019 election and the sole motivation for membership on your forum shall be intense hatred for Buhari for defeating GEJ.
As humans, you can't act like pigs that stay in their drinking water and piss inside.
Your ultimate desire to hijack this platform in compete disregard for the primary philosophy and purpose behind the creation of this forum is what we resist and that won't be accepted no matter the level of decoy. Nairaland is for Nigerians, not for Avengees and Avengers or Biafrans or Boko Haramists.
We are resolute and vigilant.

Dude! F__k you and f__k you over again.
So you think as Niger Deltans want to break away from this divided country, it's your silly NL that would stop them?
You really don't know the difference between igbo and Ijaw
By their posts you shall know them. If you get to your facebook or twitter,or your unborn Bokoharam or Avenger or Avengee or Unnairaland forum, do as you like, in fact swear on your moderators head, hide under different tribal nomenclatures like Ijaw or Igbo or change nationalites like one of you claimed to be Ugandan, just go ahead and call for the division of USA or any other nation that makes you reach a climax but on our own nairaland, we won't sit idly and cowardly give in to your evil intentions after President Buhari defeated GEJ, your hero, we're bound by Nigeria.
We are Nigerians AHU!!

Please seun this question will be best answered by you IS NL OWNED OR SPONSORED BY THE GOVERNMENT, am still yet to understand something.

NL is a public forum for public expression of view both within the country and beyond, i don't know why you should be more focused on maintaining your page THAN to CENSOR peoples view wether nigeria split or not you have nothing to gain, it doesn't make you loose your traffic. That is the more reason why social media bill was passed because FACEBOOK AND TWITTER with other media refused to CENSOR People's view on their page FACEBOOK has recorded double of traffic this year just because of this Nigerian Disintegration issues, groups are been created everyday on facebook just for sole purpose of the same issue you are fighting to ban. Oga am not telling you not to ban or do anything you want with your page after all i have got nothing to lose.

And in a section in your regulation you made a very tribalistic line.

9. Don't use Nairaland for illegal acts e.g scam, plagiarism, hacking, gay meetings, incitement, (PROMOTING BIAFRA ) I think it would have been better promoting division of nigeria putting BIAFRA shows your direct focus and HATE for people agitating for it.
For me i don't really care if am ban or not, but the more you ban your members i bet you you will lose 40% within just two weeks and also end up creating E-attack on your forum, i think the last we nearly survived and which you won't be ready to get prepared for another ...SMH

I'm sure you know what you are doing. If Nigeria splits tell us which part of the divided country (God forbid) will have a National symbol called Naira?
You guys are at your wits end with your games.
Nairaland is for Nigerians not for people who need a Nigerian platform to promote their evil agenda to break up Nigeria because their presidential candidate, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, was defeated in a free and fair election.

oga calm down the way you boldly say that Nairaland is for nigerians get's me crazy for God sake this is not owned by government. SEUN Is the owner and i believe this page is not only been used by nigerian's. The name NL Is just a brand name, he never thought of this before picking that domain been a programmer and an E-promoter i believe all that was in his mind was that this would get peoples attention and would get people to flock on the forum...tomorrow even if he changes this name i bet you it won't change anything after all NL is not the only page having a domain name relating to nigeria (9jaloaded, Naij.com, nairacash just to mention but a few.
As for me am not on promoting violence or division of this country, is none of my business wether one nigeria or not food will still remain on my table, i have nothing to lose or gain after all am not getting anything from this present administration, to me it has failed in many ways but that is not my point of view for now till when we get to that so banning people won't change anything at all main people doing the bombing don't even have time to come and be exchanging words on nairaland with me and you.

You just answered the question! You care less about what we care for!!
We are Nigerians who are attached to the NigeriaNess of this forum. That's why we have a sense of ownership of Nairaland.
We're addicted to Nairaland and it's a good story of how dreams when cultivated from a good heart like that of Seun can bring people who are bound by a common symbol together.Nairaland is different from those forum or money making sites, you mentioned.
So many people have copied this forum but where are they? Nigerians don't have the same feeling of ownership that Nairalanders feel towards their forum.
This is tiwantiwa Nairaland. Any person who supports Nigeria breakup because his candidate lost the presidential election doesn't mean well for Nairaland.
Nairaland doesn't support Nigeria breakup.
