Mention 2 policy that favours common man
You heard the president , pdp has destroyed the nation and in order to repair the damage done some painful desicions will have to be made which would in the long run be in the best interest of the masses not the tiny minority that has held us in bondage for 16years. While this is going on an unprecedented social protection programme is being out in place as a palliative while labour and government has set up a commitee to work out a new minimum wage . We Buhari supporters are ready and willing to bear a little discomfort in order to have a brighter and better future in a nation we will all be proud of you unlike the opposition who prefer not to tackle situations but rather use those challenges to enrich themselves and cronies.

Bros, I am from a majority tribe of Nigeria if you Care to know. On a more serous note, please mention any of Mr. President's policies that benefit a large spectrum of the society. Is it the increase in kerosene and petrol price or hike in electricity tariff? Are we talking about the proposed feeding of school children as if their parents are complaining? Pls tell us.
"Are we talking about the proposed feeding of school children as if their parents are complaining?"

People like you will be ranting all over the internet whenever statistics are produced rating Nigeria low on issues like malnutrition, infant mortality, childhood killer diseases or even school enrolment now a tried and tested programme is being put in place you are still complaninig . Smh

Did you just say the school feeding programme has been "tried and tested"? Take a trip to Osun State where it was pioneered and come back with feedbacks on its implementation. That programme is one of the reasons Osun State is in debt today. Besides, the last WAEC performance statistics actually placed Osun as one of the states with lowest pass level. What does that connote? It simply means the school feeding programme has done nothing to improve the state's school enrolment and academic performance. Quote me anytime, the Fed Govt would regret threading the same crooked lane.

Apologies but your line of reasoning leaves nothing to desire. What palliatives are you talking about? Even if the minimum wage is increased, what is the percentage of its beneficiaries to the nation's labour force? In other words, what's the ratio of civil servants to employees in the private sector? From the list of those earmarked for the so-called social welfare scheme, it represents less than 2% of the nation's 170milliom population, so what are you taking about?

So I am saying your headline is just based on hate! Analyse the speech and go, don't come here saying it is the worst speech as if any of the recent past leaders have delivered any inspiring speeches

Let me put it in the simplest English; many past speeches had been empty but from all ramifications, this one is the emptiest. Are you OK now?

I have been ok. I repeat, the title of your thread was borne out of hate and was unnecessary. Chief, you're not conversing with a toddler. I said "many of the past speeches had been empty", does that refer to ALL past speeches?

If you don't believe this speech is empty, mention (sincerely) any item that's different from what we have been hearing in the last one year from both the president and his push-push ministers.

malnutrition, infant mortality, child and adulthood diseases as well as school ( children or adult) enrollment is the problem of the north.

why would they be drawing the other regions back.

SS and SE will never benefit from this social programs owing to their level of poverty which is less than 5%.

Give them an enabling environment to develop not caging them through lack of policy direction.

Tell me what impressed you today during his mayday speech
Is it the Scarry face or the horrible English?
The pale, weak, tired look of the president?

This is disgusting

That pale weak tired looking president is far better than the PhD holder handsome (but with a wicked heart ) he defeated at the polls.

OLADD:
Listening to Mr. President's Democracy Day broadcast which ended few minutes ago, I cannot but shake my head in utter disbelief, despondency, disappointment and consternation. Empty and shallow, the difference between the speech and APC 2015 campaigns from my own observation, is the difference between half a dozen and six. Characterised by the usual lamentations about the ruins of the past, rhetorics about implementation of the TSA policy, discovery of 43,000 ghost workers in govt payroll, establishment of Efficiency Unit and the much hyped Social Intervention Programmes( which had already been exhaustively echoed by the Ministers of Finance and Information at different fora), nothing suggests this govt has a gilt-edge agenda for speedy recovery of lost grounds economically, politically and socioculturally. On looted fund recovery, the president must have disappointed many of his ardent supporters by failing once again, to give specific figure on amount recovered so far and the number of culprits involved. On security, the president betrayed his "Maitatsine Insurgency feat" by celebrating the rescue of 2 Chibok Girls from a list of 217. Mediocrity has never been this bad in our nation's history. Going as far as threatening Niger Delta agitators in the face of helpless bombings of oil installations would do more harm than good to the nation's fragile economy and peace. Curiously, did anybody notice that the president avoided commenting on herdsmen escapades or was it an unintended omission? If after one year in office, the best President Buhari could offer on his maiden Democracy Day broadcast was the usual loads of seemingly unending promises, the nation needs to fret about its future.
A lot of us are already fretting.

We are alarmed and sad that many others are taking quite a long time to catch up.

What a disaster we have foisted on ourselves.

By saying it's the worst speech, he had already done comparison in order to have reached that conclusion.

Do you want him to present all previous speeches here and take you through a point by analysis ?

I don't know what to say again and the politics moderators will ban me again but
The speech was empty
No hope for survival
No agenda at all
No tangible plan for a economic upliftment
No atom of sympaty to the many nigerians who was affected in any economic crises or political crises
The only things I saw him speaking vehemently is the women fund and social fund he said he has approved officialy to be accounted to which people
He did not adress the killings and the hardship
1wolex85:
Oga, I am only asking you to prove your assertion. So you vividly remember the other 16 speeches such that you know they were laden with facts? Haba! Did I find the speech inspiring? No but for you to conclude that it's the worst speech without going through the other 16 is just foolishness. Besides what are facts? No matter what he did, you would have still criticized him

Yes! That's what I wanted him to do. It was obvious he didn't compare anything. He made the post 20 mins after the speech. He must be Einstein to compare it to 16 other speeches in that time. As I said before, not that I found the speech inspiring, but people should stop making outlandish statements based on hate. I remember feeling this same way listening to speeches from obj to yaradua to gej. I only asked him to prove his assertion because I knew it had no basis.

If you start a race of 400 meter race in a slow pace because you want to gather enerygy at the end of the race , believe me you will not only come last but your sponsor will be mad at your disgraceful failure

His speech is dry at a point I was touched if he is about to sleep or faint ,thanks to the camera man who do shift his poistion to awake the general and good work to the editor who planted that big screen for him to read on their by forgetting the mian agenda

He. Sopouse to thank the people that voted him and encourage them to have faith more strongly for his admistration, irrespective of the many problem the country economy is facing

He didn't call out any tangible infrastructure or investment plan he has archived for the past one year rather he only focuses on the corruption mantra and the over hyped tsa treasury single account and the ghost workers being practice by civil servants

The average nigeria is dying of the hopes that have being shaterd ,the un archived promises, the business men are anguishing, the industries are closing up, banks are retrenching workers to meet up with economy, more states are roping in to debt cause they can't pay salary

The niger delta millitants and the fulani issues he never emphasise on them seriously

He didn't even end his speech we'll by giving us hope to wait for more ,knowing that at the end we wiL laugh best

Let me ask you again ,if we lost all we have laboured for all these years through hard works and and. Productivity in the name of bad economy policy and monetry policy ,do you think the memory will wipe easily

We need hope for survival
