You give specification of what you want. Mine was 7.5 diesel engine a nd it drives both grinding and pelleting unit. It cost 150k but the price will increase if u are using higher engine like 9.5, 11 00, 11 10, 11 15 etc

For cheering d price increase. Been seeking information on d likely farmgate price despite increase price of feed n other resources.

These forum seem d be d only robust forum for seeking info on marketing n production.

Its not going to be easy to negotiate d prices u mentioned, but d earlier we all start resisting rediculous price offers better.

I decided to smoke n sell my slow growing fishes to reduce d burden of feed n pressure to sell. So i can negotiate within d range u suggested.

Thank you very much sir, its as easy as ABC negotiate the price with the buyers with samples, if the mutual price is agreed then you sell to them if not say bye to them.. The price of feed is not funny at all presently, aller aqua is about 7k, coppens, zeigler also same.. Any fish farmer that sells below the stipulated price is just giving out gift to the buyers who in turn will sell times two.. When i stocked my fish, sorted in pains, change water, cue to buy fuel, feed the fishes nobody was there, now i want to harvest the buyers boldly come to dictate the price for my own fish, that wont happen again..

Let all fish farmers especially in the west stick to this price or you stand a very big chance running at a loss..

Pls gurus in d haus kindly assist ur sis here. I intend to get an oven for drying fish to enable me reduce cost, i hv not been able to get any around but was introduced to NIOMR in lagos. They have fish tech dept.that produce oven but their price is way too high (350k). The oven has thermometer,chimney, fan,oil collector charcoal chamber and gas pipe. Please wats ur take on such high tech oven and wats d price one can get good oven out thr?

1. for melange stocking density let me break it down this way: some will argue that u can stock x2 of your pond capacity for grow out, but i will recommend x1.5 or at most x1.7. e.g if your pond can take 1000 fishes to table size, for melange u can stock 1500 or 1700 max. (assuming you are using a stagnant water system) effective spacing is key to ur success in this.(please read more on melange farming on agricnetwork)

2. Regarding time to feed, feed twice a day preferably between 8.am and 9.am when dissolved oxygen levels has started to rise. And not later than 6pm in the evening. feed to satiation but avoid wastage.

3. some great minds on this thread have been using formulated feeds and with wonderful results, so sure it can be used. (like i said this is just a model that works). is there 'only one way' of doing things? not always sir.

4. on advisable feed formula, please kindly review ablx's formula and modify where necessary.

My boss, we are here to assist ourselves, i hope your fish are feeding frenzy with the pelletised feed, it will as well boost their growth because of the high percentage of fishmeal in it.

The remaining one has been pelletised, will take it along to work tomorrow.
